Merchant sounded totally off during that broadcast. One minute he's impassioned over nothing (repeatedly crying over brave Yordan not quitting), and the next he's stuttering his words and taking forever to complete 2 syllables of a sentence.

I'm no fan of Kellerman, but at least he can keep talking without sounding like an Alzheimer's sufferer.

This. And he picks and chooses witch fighter to **** on and witch to praise just based on bias. Kellerman genuinely at least comes across as being excited about the sport.

They don't always have to be 100% unbiased, and truthfully...Larry wasn't off on anything he said. I was physically there and it wasn't really packed at all. He made a comment in relation to a Pac vs Berto fight and what both drew. I mean, do we need "YES MEN" behind the mic too? LOL

            It's not that serious, really...
The bold means absolutely nothing. Just because a person is older and been around longer doesn't always mean they know more. I hate when people say **** like that. Charles Barkley is a living legend that actually "PLAYED AND DOMINATED" in the sport he is talking about. Merchant and Lampley have done nothing but sit on the sideline and talk about what other people are doing. So comparing what Barkley says about baskeball to what Merchant and Lampley say about boxing is a horrible comparison even though I get what you trying to get accross. Commentating is supposed to be unbiased and true. I never said what Merchant stated about the size of the crowd as untrue but the fact still remains that the size of the crowd in any fight has no bearing on how good or a bad a fight is. So the size of a crowd is not worth talking about. Where did the yes men comment come from? Nothing I said was about commentators always agreeing but why always be negative and why always have Lampley there who calls the fight wrong and shows a unheard bias for certain fighters as a commetator? **** makes no sense.

Of course this **** ain't serious cause it don't interfere with how I take care of mine.

Even though I only heard him on replays and don't know if he didn't longer but Howard Cossell is leagues way better than Merchant. I never liked Merchant or Lampley so I don't agree. Merchant has had his moments but longevity is not what makes you great. Just because he is the person I grew up hearing on HBO broadcasts doesn't mean I have to like it. I didn't say that because you or anybody else stated anything even close to me having to like Merchant. I used to like **** Vitale now I can't stand him and I used to hate Bill Walton now I miss him and wish he could get back on the air.
