It's nothing new. Merchant has been a bitter old man for the last 29 years. I hate his ****** little analogies and stories. He doesn't really provide any boxing insight than we don't already know. He's always questions the fighters and trainers perspectives and he has no experience in either. He acts like he hates his job so much, and that every fight is crap. If that's the case, then why doesn't he retire? The guy is super paid. He owns freakin wine vineyards in Italy! That being said, I'll probably miss the old fart when he does leave.

Kellerman is crap as wel, I won't argue that. But for every gatti fight, or fight that he actually comes alive for, there are 20 other fights that he spends the whole night trashing and giving a negative perspective on. He's such a downer.

He might've been right but you can tell by his commentating that he's starting to lose it. Instead of commentating all he does is complain and sound more of a senile fanatic than an actual boxing analyst.

i'll admit as far as boxing science goes he doesn't know alot but thats why they have a manny stewart or lennox or foreman there to give the perspective of a fighter and explain what is going on

merchant's arguments with roy jones while he was a broadcaster were classic

i think it was pacquiao v morales 2 where he said larry doesn't know what he's talking about and larry said

"we can agree to disagree roy without having to pull rank"

HBO needs to fire everybody except Steward. Merchant is just a hating old b!tch a$$ man. That comment wasn't necessary at all. What bearing did mentioning the size of the crowd have to do with the fight? Merchant is always negative and brings nothing to any telecast that he is on. How can HBO put 2commentators on tv and know nothing about boxing. Cause Lampley is just as terrible and useless Merchant.
