HBO needs to fire everybody except Steward. Merchant is just a hating old b!tch a$$ man. That comment wasn't necessary at all. What bearing did mentioning the size of the crowd have to do with the fight? Merchant is always negative and brings nothing to any telecast that he is on. How can HBO put 2commentators on tv and know nothing about boxing. Cause Lampley is just as terrible and useless Merchant.

Larry Merchant saying there were more people in Pacmans dressing room then at the Bank Atlantic Center for Andre Berto's fight. First off, the undercard was pretty weak and did not feature many local fighters with large followings. No offense to my boy Cepeda who has a nice following. Also, when Friday night fights go the Blue Horizon capacity is 500 so yeah it looks packed. We had about half of the 19452 seats filled that night on a marginal card. Merchant is incompetent at this stage of his career and sounds like **** Clark. He was/is a legend of boxing but its time step down.

Bro, they've been apart (not a fan) of Boxing probably longer than you've known about Boxing itself. I think they're allowed to express their opinions such as Charles Barkley does heavily on TNT about Teams and Players be it negative or positive. They don't always have to be 100% unbiased, and truthfully...Larry wasn't off on anything he said. I was physically there and it wasn't really packed at all. He made a comment in relation to a Pac vs Berto fight and what both drew. I mean, do we need "YES MEN" behind the mic too? LOL

He did not hurt my feelings pal. Truth is he was a great assett to boxing for many years but his time has past and he needs to go. I talked with him briefly after the fights and he sounded punchy. lol

Larry Merchant does need to retire.

He has a tendency to ramble on about nonsensical thing's. He also makes a lot of those blunt brutally honest jokes like the one where he said Berto was not a draw. Makes him look more like a douchebag for even bringing up something that obvious

I don't really know what he provides, because its not really that much in the way of boxing insight at this point.

I'd honestly rather listen to Kellerman talk about obscure 1980's boxing matches than listen to Larry Merchant ramble on about nothing of merit.
