    Kiss my ass Larry Merchant

Larry Merchant saying there were more people in Pacmans dressing room then at the Bank Atlantic Center for Andre Berto's fight. First off, the undercard was pretty weak and did not feature many local fighters with large followings. No offense to my boy Cepeda who has a nice following. Also, when Friday night fights go the Blue Horizon capacity is 500 so yeah it looks packed. We had about half of the 19452 seats filled that night on a marginal card. Merchant is incompetent at this stage of his career and sounds like **** Clark. He was/is a legend of boxing but its time step down.

    FYI: Manuel Steward is CLASS…

I was there myself, looked as filled as the last HBO card they hard there with Nate Campbell (maybe a little more). They were giving away lower level tickets in the 200 section just before the Caballero match ended (which usually means they want to fill the bottom rows for TV). I think what Larry was eluding to was Berto isn't yet up to the standards to fight Pacquiao as far as what he can draw. I don't think it was an insult more than Merchant just over exaggerating (which many people do anyway). But he also praised Berto heavily, so I don't see what the fuss is.

Cuz it was pretty full but its a very very big arena for a non title fight with huge names. What did Merchant expect?

It's nothing new. Merchant has been a bitter old man for the last 29 years. I hate his ****** little analogies and stories. He doesn't really provide any boxing insight than we don't already know. He's always questions the fighters and trainers perspectives and he has no experience in either. He acts like he hates his job so much, and that every fight is crap. If that's the case, then why doesn't he retire? The guy is super paid. He owns freakin wine vineyards in Italy! That being said, I'll probably miss the old fart when he does leave.
