Mosley didnt lose it clearly.cotto was only ahead of 1 point at 12rd on my card,and many others i guess.

getting your head snapped back with damn near every punch constiutes a lost round to me. He lost a majority desicion. He was getting jabbed and hooked flush. He did respond with some haymakers to the gloves in attempted home run knock out swings, but he lost that fight. I wanted him to win, trust me. But he lost, clearly.

I didn't say they did. I said that at that time, for Pac, fighting either would have been the about the same for Pac's legacy because of the fact that Cotto had already beaten Mosley.

Mosley was near the end of a great career, whereas Cotto is far younger, so obviously Mosley has the greater legacy over his entire career, but that wasn't what I was talking about. Mosley had looked very lethargic and past his prime in his last but one fight, and no one knows for sure how much his last performance was a genuine return to form, and how much it was because Margarito was not focussed, because he'd been caught cheating. Plus styles make fights, so beating Marg doesn't completely erase the loss to Cotto. Marg may just have had the perfect style for Mosley to look good against.

If you looked at the Welterweight record over the past couple of years, there was little or nothing to choose between Cotto's and Mosley's Welterweight records over that period. You fight the fighter as he is now, not the fighter he was 10 years ago, so Mosley's record 10 years ago is irrelevant to the discussion. It's obviously very relevant to any discussion about Mosley's career legacy overall, but that wasn't what I was talking about.

And I understand you were not talking about legacy, but when discussing P4P you must elude only ever so slighly to the fighters complete record as well as the train of thought of most people(P4P Gods are not excluded). That train of thought is the "what have you done lately" syndrome.

As for Margarito having the style that was tailor made for Shane; well Margo fought the exact same fight against Cotto as he fought against Shane(Margo's style doesn't change my friend it just repeats itself as he knows no other way to fight). With that being said you DO have to lend Shane some extended credit for the Margo fight, as it is Shane and Cotto who have changed (somewhat) as fighters with Margo staying virtually the same. All three fighters careers are of relevance whenever discussing two of the three fighters IMO.
