I gotta disagree about wishful thinking on my part though. I would prefer to see Mayweather-Pacquiao as would everyone who is a true boxing fan but would be nearly as ecstatic with Pac-SSM as well. I have no stake in the fight or anything, I just happen to be in touch with the reality of the situation. Mayweather will not lose to Mosley barring a freak occurance. (No, I don't swing from Mayweathers nuts or think he's unbeatable.)



Back to his old form that he was in say........the Wright or Forrest fights? See where I'm going with this?

Marquez was the #2 P4P fighter in the world at the time he was completely dismantled by Floyd. Smaller? Sure by a little bit, but lets not forget that Floyd and Mosley used to campaign in the same class that Marquez was the lineal champion in. He had no lack of speed nor a lack of power in the fight. He was just not effective against Mayweather, who didn't allow him to use his timing like he was able to against Pacquiao's agressive style.



I agree he will be a challenge and would never disrespect a guy like Shane, who I think is one of the best men in boxing ever. I just know he cannot beat Mayweather and most likely never could have. Not even at his absolute peak. How, you ask do I know this?

In a rational, basic sense, it's simple when you break it down.

Mosley has lost big to 4 fighters in actuality.(Delahoya, Forrest, Wright and Cotto) All 4 have been orthodox fighters with very good defenses at the time he fought them. The latest example is Cotto, whom I will use since that Mosley will be the closest thing that shows up on May 1st.

Every time Cotto went defensive and countered working off of the jab, he dusted Mosley's boots. Did he do that the whole fight and win wide? Well no..........

.........but take a wild guess who will. That's right.

So, my guess is that while Mosley looked phenomenal beating human heavy bags Margarito and Mayorga, who stands right in front of an opponent and dares them to hurt him, he will be completely neutralized against the defensive, counter punching style of Mayweather. Just as Marquez was.*

No, I'm not saying that Marquez beats Mosley, that's taking it too far. I'm just saying that they are comparable on a basic level. Both can counter and work off of guys trying to **** on them by using their own strengths. Mayweather doesn't play that game and will be a stylistic nightmare for the likes of Mosley and even Pacquiao in my opinion.

*Marquez was never for a second in the fight but I think Shane will be known to be there to an extent. But after that, it's all but over for a Mayweather UD. A medium to wide UD.
