Mayweather-Baldomir did 325K buys BEFORE Mayweather fought Oscar and was a mega star. Before Pacquiao fought Oscar his PPV numbers with a legendary fighter like Erik Morales were comparable to Mayweather-Baldomir and some did less than Mayweather-Judah.

Here are some numbers of Mayweather and Pacquiao Pay per views before they fought Oscar and before they were mega stars:

    Pacquiao vs Morales 1 = 350K buys
    Pacquiao vs Morales 2 = 360K buys
    Pacquiao vs Morales 3 = 350K buys

Mayweather vs Baldomir = 325K buys
Mayweather vs Judah = 375K buys
Mayweather vs Gatti = 365K buys

He's actually not. Lower weights (anything below 135) do not get that much attention with ppv's.

And i dont think anyone's mentioned this yet, but the biggest selling point of the Marquez/Mayweather fight was that Marquez arguably beat Manny Pacquaio both times he faced him. They were using Manny's name as a selling point.

Regardless, if Mayweather and Pacquiao fought it should be 50/50.

LOL!! JMM was ranked no.2 at the time him and Floyd fought, and the fights between JMM and Manny made JMM quite famous especially the first one. C'mon, be honest and be real, if you honestly think JMM was a nobody before he fought Floyd, then you don't know ****. First of all, the fact is that Floyd does not fight a nobody, that's one of the excuses that he didn't want to fight Cotto because he was a nobody. The same excuse that he used for Mosley, Floyd said that Mosley is not a draw, these are factual statements from Floyd. So tell me and yourself how the **** it would make any sense for Floyd to fight JMM if JMM is a nobody. JMM before and after Floyd's fight was and still is one of the most popular boxer from Mexico, period. That guy is a ****ing warrior.

ESPN Sportsnation was talking about Marquez a lot. Just because he drank his own piss.

I find it fascinating that ordinary (although very very dumb) individuals get off on fighting about PPV numbers that they don't make one red cent off of.

In fact you PAID for those fights.

I mean I have never seen a more dumb topic discussed and fought over.

what about the fact that everyone at the fight was a mexican cheering for JMM, and the fact that they promoted the ***** out of it... they pushed it back to the mexican national holiday, had a 24/7 and put it in movie theaters. Pac/clottey did none of that. and JMM is a BIGGER draw than clottey, he is not a big draw by any means but clottey is not a draw whatsoever. The cotto fight should be compared with the JMM fight, cause they both had 24/7 and both have american citizens from their own countries that follow the boxers. And as far as i know, cotto had never headlined a ppv event.

Freddie Roach said Cotto is a bigger draw than Mosley, so if Mayweather-Mosley does more than Pacquiao vs Cotto no further questions need to be asked in the future
