Did you see the PPV numbers for Hopkins-Pavlik? Abysmal.

Did you see the PPV numbers for Hopkins-Calzaghe? Oh wait...

Did you see the PPV numbers for Hopkins-Ornelas? Oh wait...

Put the fight in Boardwalk Hall and on HBO World Championship Boxing and it'll do fine.

That's fine but you're subject to random posting from a third party poster who I choose.

If hopkins is going to fight anyone else at 175 dawson is the guy he should fight, i agree with you there, but on the other hand why fight a guy at this stage of your career if he's not going to make any money for you?? I can see bernard's point.

The_Executioner did mention correctly that bhop recently said on espn if dawson can get another win he'd might fight him if the money is there.

In my eyes, hopkins doesn't care about dawson right now cuz there is no money int he fight. If dawson was a big name I seriously doubt Hopkins wouldn't have signed a fight with him.

Good point...although we know the Ornelas fight was in Philly for his local fans...

Bernard still will want most of the money cuz...he's Bernard Hopkins...Chad beat two guys Bernard beat years ago...

-Hopkins moved up from 160 to 175

-Hopkins put on an absolute CLINIC on Tarver, which no one had EVER done before.
Like I said Tarver was a good win because Hopkins moved up, Tarver is also good if you read about him on wikipedia and boxrec but if you watch him fight you will know that he just isnt very good. Glen Johnson is a tough rugged journeyman very 1d and the version of Jones that Tarver beat was very beatable

-Calzaghe was going to Light Heavyweight with or without Hopkins. That was his plan. He had stated for several years 168 was getting more and more difficult to make weight and he revealed his plans to go to LH long before hopkins was an option.
Calzaghe has said he was going to lhw since the Robin Reid fight, it didnt look to me like he was in any rush to move up. Just like Hopkins wasnt in a rush to move up from mw. My point is why fight a career smw, when you can fight a lhw

                Further:
-Pavlik was a 4-1 favorite to beat hopkins
-Hopkins was 43 years old and coming off a loss to calzaghe, many people thought hopkins was way to old.
Again why is he picking fights with guys from two divisons below when there are lhws in his weight class calling him out. Betting odds dont mean anything a lot of people in the know, knew this was a bad match up for Pavlik who only brings a jab and straight roght hand to the fight.
Pavlik is tailor made for Hopkins, his the complete opposite to Calzaghe who style gave Hopkins fits.

Dude, Dawson is gonna bring int he exact same money Pavlik will bring. HBO took a loss on that fight. And he'll bring in a lot more than Enrique Ornelas. And he'll bring in the same as Roy Jones who is essentially getting paid NOTHING for this fight. That "he doesn't bring anything to the table" BS is tired.

Dawson would give him that. You think he'll beef over split? I doubt it.

Dawson has no problem over money splits
