1/30 people are gay. Theres not a lot in the boxing world because when you are gay. You tend to lean on the feminine side. Beating the **** out of the other guy would not attract the gay community. I'd think they'd rather shop than train.

In any sport, there is an unwritten rule that prohibits athlete from disclosing if they are gay. I mean how many NBA or NFL players do you know are gay? I couldn't name any, nor do I care about an athlete's sexualality.

In boxing,in particular, the way a player markets himself is part of how much they can command in terms of paydays. Their boxing ability is a big part but so is their market appeal. Most people in this country have a predudice against gays otherwise George W Bush wouldn't have been reelected. I have nothing against gays(I live in a state where gay marriage is law) but I don't think I would be such a big Ali,tyson,foreman fan if those guys were gay! As a straight guy, I would have loved to get the women Ali,tyson,foreman got in their life times and for that reason I can identify and follow a straight fighter not a gay one.
