yes like i told you he started actually training to be a boxer not just a guy who took a fight to get some money. jesus you are dumb. yes when he walked around without training he was not a middleweight. when he did train he was a middleweight. if calzaghe didn't train he would be a cruiserweight. he walks around 30 pounds north of supermiddle but i don't see you ever calling him a natural cruiserweight. hater exposed!
The overrated Bernard Hopkins

That's some plain nut huggery bull **** right there..
Who the **** did Hopkins fight who was any good outside of MW? Tarver? Winky but then you look at it and Winky is fighting well outside of his division and Tarver was weight drained. Besides it's not outside of HIS division as there is articles from Bhop saying he could not make 160 anymore it was too painful.
An in his 160 reign? Biggest Names Tito, Oscar and Jones, i allready went over the first two's record at MW (it sucks) and Jones he actually lost too. He spent alot of his MW reign fighting the same fighters..
When you break it down neither have the best of resumes like i said Bhop has the slight edge due to name power, but most of these names were disadvantaged..Comment

someone like floyd mayweather gets **** for fighting marquez but bernard gets praised for fightin a oscar delahoya that at 1 point fought at 135.can u cite hopkins better opposition at 160?Comment

Can you cite examples of fighters at 168 Calzaghe fought who were better than Hopkins' resume at 160? How about their body of records beyond their respective divisions? That's some plain nut huggery bull **** right there..

I've never pointed to the De La Hoya win as something special. But continue to avoid the question by turning it around on the person who asked you and then jumping up and down.Comment

How does being bigger have to do anything with footwork, athleticism/tech. skills, counter punching and precise punching? NOTHING. Bernard Hopkins was out-boxing his opponents. **** those mainstream names. You need to go back when he actually fought and destroyed fighters at HIS size (like it matters). But you wouldn't know that since you got along with boxing after the millennium. Mercado was big but he remained in shape and stayed in the MW division before moving up. Johnson was a BIG middleweight himself and he got a beating in 10 rounds before the fight was stopped.Question: what do DLH, Trinidad, Wright and Pavlik have in common?
Answer: They were all smaller fighters than Hopkins, but they're his greatest wins.
The best fighter he ever beat besides smaller fighters was Tarver. As some of you may know, Tarver was weight-drained, due to the fact that he just finished filming a Rocky Movie and had to cut weight fast.
He exposed by a man the same size in Jermain Taylor and then once again by a smaller fighter in Calzaghe.
I don't doubt that he was a solid middleweight champion but to consider him one of the greatest fighters of the last decade is absurd.
Now, he's fighting the man that gave him the most decisive beating of his career in Roy Jones. Except now Jones is beyond past his prime and was just knocked out by a contender-like fighter.
Way to seal your legacy, Hopkins!
Your analogy just put Hearns into shame...and that wasn't a good one...
Check your method or whatever the **** you're on.Last edited by Main Source; 01-28-2010, 12:51 AM.Comment

yes but he would have if he fought at his natural weight which appears to be about 200 pounds. you obviously don't know the difference between walking around weight and fighting weight.ok you want to call names or you want to debate...cause trust me i can dig in that ass quick fast...you got your pass
now to answer your question...hatton didn't enter boxing as a 200 lb. heavyweight, then scale down to jr. welter...unlike hopkins, who entered boxing as a lightheavy, then scaled down to 160 to beat up on smaller men for an entire career...much to the delight of his excuse making faithful....
but since hopkins took a fight on short notice without being in shape and hardly having any training he's a natural light heavy? gtfo.
you do realize every boxer drains himself to make weight? calzaghe drains like 30 pounds. in fact hopkins was one of the few boxers to ever remain close to his fighting weight(160) during his entire career. seems like he is more of a natural middleweight than any other boxer who drains themself before every fight.Last edited by daggum; 01-28-2010, 12:52 AM.Comment

Who told you that Tarver was drained? He felt fine before the bout. He send two of his own sparring partners home after 4 days. Tarver himself said he was in good shape - both before and AFTER the fight. That's some plain nut huggery bull **** right there..

Bernard was avoiding his left hand all night and Tarver couldn't land **** due to Bernards footwork. Watch the ****ing fight instead of talking about something you clearly can't comprehend.Comment

kessler, eubank and roy jones fought at 154 before. hopkins fought at 156. these are great wins for a natural supermiddle and light heavy such as calzaghe? he should be ashamed.Comment

you hopkins ballickers crack me up...stop making excuses...he entered boxing as a lightheavy and LOST...thats HIS FAULT....you make it seem like he just decided to box without entering a ring, and took a fight for the hell of it...he LOST....THEN he decided to get serious...this ain't got nothing to do with hatton, calzaghe, etc. those cats entered a division, and stayed there win or lose, then moved up... how many fighters entered boxing in one division, then scale down 2 divisions after realizing they can't hang with equally sized, equally talented fighters...hopkins is the only one i know of...lolyes like i told you he started actually training to be a boxer not just a guy who took a fight to get some money. jesus you are dumb. yes when he walked around without training he was not a middleweight. when he did train he was a middleweight. if calzaghe didn't train he would be a cruiserweight. he walks around 30 pounds north of supermiddle but i don't see you ever calling him a natural cruiserweight. hater exposed!Comment
