Martin, i think he has been told to market himself better mate.
he was getting a lot of stick for being a chav with a big mouth when he isnt really like that.

hence his humility when asked about world champ belts..

at the end of the day he wont be calling all the shots Warren will and when its time to step up its time.

talk is of a southern area title fight iby the end of the year which at 19 is about the right level for now.

Our Andre Ward is a guy named Jean Pascal, though he did not have Ward's success in the Olympics. Still, he's a well-known former Canadian amateur champ and has good power for a middleweight.

He had the bad luck of drawing a Cuban fighter in the first round of the Olympics, and lost that match. Still, he was always thought of as more of a professional-style fighter than an Olympic point scorer.

His pro record is 3-0 and he's shown a little impatience in the ring so far, trying to get the KO too early and wearing himself out. Still, for the most part he's looked good.

I couldn't find a pic of him in a pro fight on-line, so here's one of him from the Olympics:

That's funny you say that coz' I did think Mitchell seemed like a bit of a chav before I read that article on him the other day. But that changed my view of him coz' he seemed articulate and smart, and he seemed to know where he was going with boxing.

It did mention a thing about the Southern Area title, and i remember him saying that he thought he should be fighting for the British title instead...

I saw Hubinger fight last summer and he looked great but of course it was against suspect opposition. He was fighting at light heavy but his last two fights have been at super middle. I don't know where he expects to continue, but he can definitely make some noise IMO.

He's a middleweight who recently beat Carl Daniels. It'll be tough for him to move signifciantly up the ladder more though cause the division is a little empty at the moment. So any win won't get him that much attention and he's still too far from top of the list to get a shot at any of the stars.

He's 23-0 and is fighting Elio Ortiz next.
I've seen an interview with him. He lives out of St. Michel and said he started boxing cuz there was nothing to do in Montreal and he did not want to get into drugs.

EDIT: Also saw a Jean Pascal fight. I was raving about this kid after I saw him. mad talent and he'll go a long way. He reminded me of RJJ. I said "reminded"...

I know thats the case, connections mate (i actually work with a pal of kevin as well.) it was the smacking the bloke on the floor that turned the tide and rethink was necessary

hmm possible but superfeather is held by Alex Arthur ? Behind him you have docherty, limond, Johanssen, maybe gomez if he can still make the weight (though think he will box at lightweight now)
bit of a stretch at this stage to be honest. but we will see.

gotta rush it friday post 5 and im not in the pub yet.

take care fight fans have a good weekend chat on Monday!

haha hard to live in Montreal and not get involved in at least a few drugs

I hope Alcine gets his shot soon. Seems like these days he's stuck knocking down whatever also-ran will make their way up to Quebec. But like I said before, who is going to give him a chance?

Did you see Pascal in the O'Neal fight? He looked a little silly swinging those big arms of his around so much, especially since he couldn't knock the guy out. I gues he's still learning though.

Seriously, I don't know how Alcine is gonna land a big fight. I don't think Interboxe can do much but then again, where else do you go when you're in Quebec?

And yah, I saw it. That was a poor showing but he admitted it himself after that he was trying to go for the early knockout. He talks a lot of trash lol but I think he'll be able to back it up. Suppose to fight at the Bell Center in June, was thinking of seeing it. Well actually April 15, he was suppose to fight at club Soda on St. Laurent but it never materialized. At least the kid's very active. Should boost his record fairly quick.
