He's an up and coming Middleweight with a solid amateur background. I don't forsee him ever becoming a pound for pound champion, but I can see him picking up one of the alphabet titles one day and having a career somewhat comparable to an Oba Carr or Angel Manfredy.
Not many people talk about Americo Santos. He is obviously protected and flawed.....but I like the kid. He does know how to fight, and could be a threat with some lateral movement and further strength training.
He is tall for his weight class at 140, but he sure can punch.

That kid needs to get some defense quick, fast and in a hurry.
Adonis Stevenson...this kid is the 2005 canadian amatuer middleweight champion. saw him at the nationals, he's got skills and a huge punch.
Hey man, good call.
I have spoken to Russ Anber (his trainer) a few times about Adonnis, and at the insistance he doesn't want to over hype the guy, he's said he's one of the most natural power punchers he's ever seen. He said he picked up the sport late, but learns the game with great attention to detail and discipline.
Apparently he just beat the top rated American Middleweight and is now regarded as the best ameture middleweight in the World.
Russ said they intend to go pro in early 2006 at Super Middle.
He reminds me of a cross between Jeff Lacey and Manny Pacquiao. A very powerful and fast south paw.
