Name a prospect we haven't heard much about

To contradict the usual groupie nonsense about the same three or four fighters, I thought maybe we could keep a good list of up-and-comers in this thread that a lot of people in the forum might not have heard of, because maybe they're only well-known in their own country or because they haven't had a lot of TV exposure, or whatever.

Explain a bit about why you like the fighters you mention, so the rest of us know why we should keep an eye of them.

I'll start the list with Romanian-born Lucian Bute, who now lives in Montreal Canada and fights for Interboxe, the promotion company that Eric Lucas took over when they couldn't pay him.

    He's a 25-year old Super Middleweight with a 12-0 record. He's been so impressive that he's already fighting 12-rounders.

His biggest win was against prospect Christian Cruz, who he knocked around the ring for 12 rounds before the fight was stopped.

Bascially he has both speed and power and has shown that he can adapt to the other fighter's style during a fight.

Here are a few pics of the man in action:

Damn you beat me too that one... I was reading about Kevin Mitchell the other day, and he knocked out 39 of his 45 amatuer wins.

That's a massive KO rate for the amatuers!!!

WAS CHATTiNG TO HIM LAST WEEK AT THE SYMONDS MINTER BILL.

his biggest problem is he hits so hard he keeps breaking his hands.

went to shake his hand and wondered why he held out his left then saw his right, swollen to the size of heavyweights !!!

he is a goo lad is Kevin despite his ****y arrgonace in the ring, real down to earth kid.

His borther is about to turn pro I bielve as well Vinnie, he is supposed to be well tasty as well.

Gsry Woolcombe is another one light middle weight he may lack a bit of power at present but is only 21 and will natually bulk up as he grows intot the weight (he was boxing at welter)

          he has great skills.

2 young kids to watch these two.

Joachim Alcine is another Interboxe guy, though he's a little more well-known than Bute.

He's a middleweight who recently beat Carl Daniels. It'll be tough for him to move signifciantly up the ladder more though cause the division is a little empty at the moment. So any win won't get him that much attention and he's still too far from top of the list to get a shot at any of the stars.

He's 23-0 and is fighting Elio Ortiz next.

                  Abraham "The African Assassin" Okine

He is a heavyweight originally from south africa but living in Pittsburgh PA.

He is a heavyweight who is fast as hell and packs a punch.

                  He is 14-0 with 8 ko's

He gets a lot of publicity around here, he hasnt fought top opposition although his opponents comined win/loss record is 96/120, he knocked the old and faded Tubbs out in 8 rounds in his 9th fight. I thought experience would have taken control but that wasnt the case and Okine dominated him over 8 rounds....This kid is being brought along slowly and perfectly and I feel if he continues he will blow up. He is a nice clean kid with no past or present problems and has his head straight. Here is a photo

                  He is 6'3 230 pounds

Another was an Olympic hopeful, this kid is the real deal only standing 5'5 his physique is one to boast about alone. He was supposed to be headed straight to the olympics but opted out for personal family problems and went pro. He got a 24 month deal at a casino and is a super featherweight. His name is Verquan Kimbrough his current record

                  11-0-1 with 5 kos

                  Opponents win/loss ratio

                  36/58

He is also another fighter who is bringing brought through slowly and he is an active fighter usually fighting every 3 months. His footwork and speed is tremendous he also packs a punch. He is the only fighter in my recent memory to knock a guy out with 1 punch. 33 seconds into the first round winning the NABC Americas superfeatherweight belt and is ranked 139 worldwide.

I truly believe these 2 fighters will be the future and champions in a few years.

                    Wicked!...

From the article I read in boxing monthly, he seemed like a pretty down to Earth kid. He was very very honest... And I like that in a fighter, (that's why I like Ricky Hatton ).

In the article it also said that when he won the school boy amatuers, he KO'd all 5 opponents including the final.

He said that he didn't think he was that big of a puncher, he just knew how to hurt people and he said that he knows he's very good at finishing the job when he's got someone hurt.

I reckon you don't get a KO record like that without being a BIG puncher
