This really is a dream match, no way would Hopkins face Toney at his prime as it would mean him going up and fight a similar size man rather then beat the likes of Allen and Echolls for a second time

    Toney whoops him bad

Obviously some people haven't watched a "prime" Hopkins fight.

Hopkins wasn't always a over defensive lead right hand and clinch sort of guy. Hopkins has fought that way the past few years because he is old.

Hopkins is his prime could do it all, be it coming forward or fighting off the backfoot, fighting off the ropes or on the inside. He could work the body and had a good jab when he used it and was effective at putting punches together.

To say that Hopkins couldn't outsmart Toney is a joke also.

Nunn was able to outbox and outsmart Toney, Nunn was a good fighter but wasn't and isn't on Hopkins level.

Hopkins is his prime had better stamina, better defense, probably a better chin and was simply a smarter better fighter all round than Nunn.

If Nunn could outbox Toney through 11, i can see Hopkins doing it through 12.

yea, im sure if a fleet footed fighter could potshot and run around toney, bernard hopkins could do it too since we've seen he is clearly fleet footed and as fast a nunn

their styles are oh so similar

I don't think Bernard or Toney would beat each other "easily"

Easily? Never. In fact, I'm not even sure he wins.

Nunn was faster than Hopkins but Hopkins isn't exactly slow, his speed is underated and always has been.

Hopkins wouldn't run around Toney. he would use smart lateral movement from side to side, pick his shots in and out.

It would be close but i see Hopkins edging it.

Toney wasnt exactly prime when he fought Nunn, and that Nunn fight was close as hell going into the final rounds. I would say Toney was more in his prime during his smw reign.

Hopkins dosent have better defence and his chin is weaker as was shown in the Mercado fight were he was hurt numerous times and dropped twice.

Toney is a smarter boxer than Hopkins also Hopkins would have trouble coping with Toneys shoulder roll and hand speed.

we have all seen prime hopkins fight,we know what he does

whenever hopkins fights a top fighter his own size he has lost,i think it would be the same story against toney.a close fight in which hopkins will ***** about the decision as usual

Hopkins loses this, even Hopkins knows this which is the reason this fight never happened. Hopkins could of called Toney out when Toney was the IBF smw champion but he didnt. Also he had another chance when the fight was made in 2003 and he pulled out

Prime Toney was in the Barkley fight, where he was a sharpshooting demon. Nobody beats that guy easily. Hopkins would give him a lot of trouble with his movement, but he would gives Hopkins hell with accurate punching and handspeed.
