should a boxer be allowed to be a commisioner too when he fights?

its in his contract with Sauerland. someone posted a german translation of what happened (jkaisen). regardless like i said, asking for a new precedent to evolve with the times is nothing new. its like reducing 100 round fights to 15 rounders, to what we have today with 12 rounders. as new information becomes available, issues and solutions evolve with the times.
like i said, the way you word it is a slippery slope and its almost misleading, given that our sport has no real governing body and no universal commision, the big money fights/fighters always set the precedent and standard for the rules and sometimes those rules are bent or changed altogether.
Im sure you are aware of what happened when antonio margarito fought miguel cotto and bob arum threatened to pull out of the fight if the glove size rule wasnt changed and he basically forced the NSAC to change the rules, even though they were made to protect the fighter.Last edited by El Jesus; 01-15-2010, 10:42 PM.Comment

Yeah but we now live in an age where steroids are running ramped in sports, unlike the golden era for boxing. We shouldn't change things because "it's never been done in the past?" Going by your logic, if Pacquiao had just agreed to the testing, it would be standard protocol for all professional boxing bouts. If it was, you'd have no problem with it?
It has to start somewhere.Comment
