This is ******. Everyone at one point or another lets a fighter do that. It's psychological warfare in there. It's what Pacquiaos doing NOW that makes him suspect.
Was it a mistake by Pacquiao to let Cotto tee off on him?

That was sheer mental strength. Pacquiao did what he had to do in order to win. He had a point to prove, and half the battle was mental. Once the mental battle was won, the rest of the fight was easier. At the time pacquiao said he wanted to test cottos power, and to show everyone that he was at least just as strong as cotto.
So he stood be the ropes with his hands up and he let cotto just keep punching him for a good while.
While im sure he was hoping to get more praises on how great he is from the adoring public, it actually gave people more reason to think he was on steroids.
Im thinking mayweather might not have even asked for these extra drug test if he just boxed cotto.

That's nonsense. So Pac is suppose to get his ass kicked now to prove that he's not on steroids. At the time pacquiao said he wanted to test cottos power, and to show everyone that he was at least just as strong as cotto.

It's not like every single punch was getting through anyways. And the punches that did actually caused some damage to Manny's face.Last edited by Swag Hustla; 01-14-2010, 06:17 PM.Comment

Man. This thread started off well. Every PAC/PBF thread goes straight to steroids/xylocaine. Any way, I was worried at first when I saw Pac go to the ropes, esp. because it seemed like Cotto could handle Pacs speed at first and was landing. When I saw him tighten up his guard and lean into the ropes I felt better. Like someone said, he's been doing the exact same thing in sparring for years.Comment
