I see where you're coming from here..but you gotta understand..Margarito is a Top Rank fighter as well..that's another one of his cash cows..so he had to go all out for him..

Arum is a business man..and if it's gonna mess with his money..I KNOW he'll defend his fighters even when he KNOWS they're dirty..

        You are correct sir.

Arum has been accused of being a racist by Robert Lee, the former president of the International Boxing Federation. Lee said of Arum "I pin the racism charge on him because he once told me: `We will let the Blacks and the Latinos fight in the ring and we will count the money on the outside'."

The first time I read that, I knew that if it was true I could never support that guy.

idk man... if its the other way around, people will call cotto "pampered" and "nurtured"...

not everybody is given a chance the way cotto was given a chance...

u want him treated like humberto soto? I dont.. u want arum treat cotto like the way he treated JMM when the mexican was still with him? I dont...

Bob Arum guided cotto's career very nicely, he got him ALL THE BIG FIGHTS, multiple world titles, the best fighters available, a huge ppv star, millions of dollars....what more would you want your promoter to do!?

Duck all the opposition? Oh I see. So now all of a sudden the right path is to avoid tough fights i.e floyd mayweather & joe calzaghe. That's the path to glory
Do most of guys have to defend everyone who is close to Manny Pacquiao? Most of Pac fans truly thinks Bob Arum is a ****, he doesn't care about anyone but making money for himself. The reason why Floyd lefted him was because he was/is a greedy bastard. He has helped made Pacquiao the great boxer he is today, but he has made some comments and told lies that has hurt Manny's image. Bob Arum is an *******, period.

              No... Cotto ruined himself.

He was fed easy Ws throughout his career. Then when he became a champ, there was no way to avoid a tough fight. He was the WW champ without fighting significant people. So the holes in his game were never shown.

Then came Mosley. Mosley showed that Cotto can't take one to the chin. Then people started looking back and saw that it was evident in his previous fights as well.

Then came Margarito. Margarito showed that Cotto can't take constant pressure. In short he is a head-case.

Then came Clottey. Many people believed Cotto-Marg was just a fluke. Clottey proved that it wasn't. Albeit he lost.

Then came Pacquiao. He was basically everything Cotto shouldn't fight all wrapped into one. Pacquiao had speed, power, and a constant in your face pressure. Thus Cotto crumbled to a smaller guy and ultimately ruined himself.

He took on fights and never tried to figure out how to get better. What did I do wrong. How can I get better even though I won. It has nothing to do with Arum. It's all Cotto's fault for not getting better, not trying to strengthen his weakness, or make those holes in his game smaller. Cotto's image is "i'm a warrior", he made it to where he can't take the easy fights.

It's Cotto's fault. Hopefully he can evolve and make a comeback.

Wow..lol..I've never read that..that's fucked up..but funny at the same time..because I can definitely picture him saying that..

Arum is a leech..and everyone knows it..

I just wish Cotto wasn't so loyal and stubborn all the time..and would've realized that after getting his name out to the Boxing World after beating Mosley..he could've took off to be his own Promoter..or even Golden Boy..

And if he was never going to be prepared wasn't it the best idea to make the most money possible fighting the biggest name out there before your star fades?

Further, he fought twice after the Margo beating and handled himself very nicely. Arum gave him a "confidence booster" fight in Jennings and then a manadatory title defense against Clottey.

I just don't get your logic. Is it it just based on Arum hate? What?
great response, cotto had a year to get over the marg beating. if he wasn't he'll never will.

anyway arum did a good job manging cotto imo, he gave him the best fights that all top WW's should need so i don't think he ruined him and how is miguel ruiend in the frist place? he just lost to a p4p # 1 manny pacquiao and the marg fight you can say was some dirty tatics going on at the time.

i think people are too easy on giving up on fighters
