You're being really ridiculous. I have written literally hundreds of posts defending Khan! Here's a recent example. And here's an example from several months ago.
But anyone who defends any fighter for blatant ducking isn't a boxing fan, and therefore you are certainly not a boxing fan.
Maidana recently destroyed the most hyped US prospect in all of boxng, on HBO. Fighting Maidana would get him at least as much exposure, far more respect, and would lay to rest all the gremlins about his chin, as long as he wins.
For a voluntary he's okay, but Maidana is Khan's mandatory, the WBA said he has to fight him within 90 days, and Roach recently said Khan would vacate if he has to fight Maidana - and to pretend that's not ducking is to live in a dreamworld.
And Salita may have been technically a mandatory, but that just shows how corrupt the WBA's rankings are. No one other than the WBA ranked Salita inside the top 50 Jnr Welterweights. It was every bit as bad as when Lockett was Pavlik's mandatory, or when Jennings was Cotto's.
As I've said in many other posts, I blame Roach and Warren for this much more than Khan, but Khan needs to stand up to them, or he'll lose the respect of most boxing fans.Last edited by Dave Rado; 12-17-2009, 09:16 PM.Comment

Junior welterweight contender Paulie Malignaggi, and his promoter Lou DiBella, are shooting for a shot at WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan. Their preferance, as far as the venue and location, would be Madison Square Garden in New York City [Click Here To Read More]Comment

Khan is more like ERik Estrada than Morales
Trying to compare a British Pansy, who had to leave his own country, to Legend like Morales is absurd in any way possible and those who do, should be punched in the Thigh. Morales was a ring legend that never ran from a fight and welcomed any challenge, even if it meant losing. On the other hand A***** Khan is Doing everything he can to avoid a fight with his Mandatory Maidana and getting a fight with ***-linganni would save his Chin from Exposure. Running from a fight is nothing new but when A***** Khan uses the excuse of having to fight Salita because he was a mandatory, then runs from Maidana, takes away his credibility to me. Then factor in that Khan has one of the Weakest Chins in History vs the Iron Chin of Erik and the same differences in Punching Power, with Morales having Devasting KOs against Quality Fighters and the comparison is even more Ridiculous. I know most on here were just trying to state they look a like, but for a Pansy like A***** Khan to resemble a Ring Legend like Morales but fight like NancyBoy, is also insulting..... That being Said, a fight with A***** and ***-linganni would be a decent fight and MSG is a great venue to hold it in. Didnt Prince Hamed have his fight with Kevin Kelley at MSG? IF so, then this could be some weird way of following in the footsteps of another British guy with arabic decent.Comment

My thoughts exactly.
I dont mind it so much, though, for a few reasons. Pillow puncher or not, Paul is still ranked higher than Madaina, and is still a better fighter. On top of that, Khan is really still just a baby, he can play it a little safe for a little while if he wants to, hes still fighting ranked contenders. And I like Paulie, so I like seeing him get a shot.Comment

That's a good reason why he should appeal to the WBA and ask to have a voluntary defence first, on the basis that he would agree to fight Maidana after that - just like Vitali appealed successfully when he was told he had to fight a second voluntary in a row against Maskaev. But Khan/Roach/Warren haven't done that. Instead, Roach simply said Khan will vacate if the WBA enforce their decision.
And Salita may have been technically a mandatory, but that just shows how corrupt the WBA's rankings are. No one other than the WBA ranked Salita inside the top 50 Jnr Welterweights. It was every bit as bad as when Lockett was Pavlik's mandatory, or when Jennings was Cotto's.

personally, i would like to see ortiz have a rematch with maidana. victor is too good of a fighter to let that match destroy his persona.
that being said, i would like khan to fight prescott again as well just to show fans that that fight was a fluke. being trained by roach now, i think prescott would go down in the first round against amir now.Comment

thats a pretty good fight. i dont know how there styless would mesh cause they both like to box but it should be good. amir khan is real good too.Comment

u got a good point on the maidana story khan vs maidana would be good. as good as khan is his chin is shaky and maidana can punch. thats a real fight right there. maidana did beat vic ortiz who was hbos future for the title he deserves a big fight tooComment

I think this will be a good fight for Khan next. Once he is done with Paulie, he can fight Maidana.Comment
