Paulie is a good fight for Khan at this stage of his career. Especially with all the exposure it would get for him if it's held in NYC at Madison Square Garden.

Maidana deserves his title shot though.

This is the problem with these hyped fighters, cause they bring more money to the table the can avoid certain fighters and be fitted with a fighter that will compliment the fighting style of these prima donnas.

Any other up comming fighter has to take all challenges from punchers to movers and become a solid contender as they go. It just baffles me that ppl are saying that Khan is young and still has to learn. He does have a title so what is the problem. If he don't want to be bashed so much he should had taken the JCC jr route instead. He might become a great fighter but you get there fighting not on ppl hyping you.

No idea why Khan would want to duck his mandatory. Maidana would be easy work behind an active jab and a tucked chin. Fighting Paulie, a pillow thrower, and ducking Maidana, a heavy thrower like Prescott who put his lights out, does nothing for Khan's image as a china chinned hypejob. On top of that, he's willing to vacate his belt to avoid facing Maidana? Christ, as if turning around and running at the mere whiff of a decent puncher wasn't bad enough, he's willing to just drop the belt? Why call yourself a world champion if you're not willing to defend your title against all comers? Is Khan going to cherrypick his defenses for the rest of his career?

Dont count Paulie out!Yeah hes a light puncher but hes very experienced, nothing like Salita...he has a great chin unlike Khan. Khan also fights from the front foot and is very open to the same uppercut Diaz got stumbled with.

As we have seen with Khan's ability he can beat Prescott in a second fight and Maidana is highly beatable but you got to be ready to fight all 12 and be on your game. Either fight I'll give the advantage to Khan but he will simply not take the fights.

My prediction is they are gonna continue to go on the path with the least resistance and Roach has developed a pattern in finding fighters names that will make his fighters look good against.

When will people realise that khan isn't ready for big punchers like Maidana. He's still so young. A fight with someone like Paulie Malignaggi will bring khan on alot. He needs to learn more. Prehaps after his next fight take on a puncher.

I'd be surprised if he ever fought Maidana!

Roach said he'd rather Khan gives up his belt than fight Maidana.

Vacating a belt simply to avoid having to face a big puncher, and yet claiming to be a world champion, isn't a small deal - it devalues the whole concept of "world champion". I have no problem with him fighting Malignaggi in a voluntary defence, if he can get permission to do so; but vacating the belt in order to avoid Maidana, when he is calling himself a world champion, and especially when he hasn't yet proved that he is capable of beating big punchers, would be pathetic, and that would be a big deal.
