    It's probably Vitali Klitschko.

Wladimir and Lennox are technically the best overall but Vitali's extra durability would win out in more fights over all. He'd be upset less than the other 2 masters.

pre layoff muhammad ali is the best HW ever. no fighter could have beaten that guy.

maybe, down the line, we'll find a bigger HW with the tools to beat ali.

you're an idiot if you think either klitschko is that guy. you're just a dingus.

If you all the international talent out of cruiserweight division and let B/C-level American fighters have long hard slop wars for the title it would probably be HUGELY popular today just like Ali-Frazier was, but those days are gone.

EDIT: Why did you bump this from 2009?
Realistically Ali couldn't beat any of their top 10 opponents reliably, let alone them.

Ali has never overcome anybody as good as Tommy Morrison tbh.

To be honest I agree, but it's kind of a hopeless cause. People love him so much for reasons entirely unrelated to boxing.

But how anyone can sit through his fights and say "This guy would destroy Lennox Lewis!" is baffling none the less.

This is an age old debate that will only be resolved in time.

I will never understand how anybody can rate that guy favourably against the B level boxers of the last few generations, let alone it's champions.

I wouldn't have even followed boxing if it was that bad.

Each to their own, you can have your featherfisted hero. I prefer my picks mate

ali was not feather fisted. you clearly do not watch him fight.

In my opinion there were many great heavyweights, but no single "greatest" heavyweight.

We cannot accurately compare fighters of different generations, so we can never know for sure.
