The footwork would give DLH headaches. Pac was turning him all night while punching him at the same time.

Pac's speed and timing would confuse DLH, not to mention Pac's a Southpaw.

Pac would take more damage, but he'd also land more. DLH was focusing on defense in the latter rounds and still took a lot of punishment. A punch happy DLH would get countered with punches he couldn't see from angles he wouldn't expect.

the footwork would'nt do much, hence sweetpea and camacho, pacs speed verses dlh? not even close, at the time who would land on dla? mosley only and that was later, defense for dlh in his prime was top notch, speed kills. sounds like you're judging on the old dlh and not the prime.

Whitaker is getting overrated badly here. He got a Ud over chavez. (well, they called it a draw) Whitaker is slippery and had good defense - but he doesn't have half the offensive capabilities of Pacquiao, nor the hand speed or even foot speed.

Whitaker get's a lot of praise here, but there isn't anything amazing that the man did, other than avoid punches and look good doing it. He lost to the best men on his resume, but was considered not in his prime.

same goes for Duran vs Whitaker, I'd give that one to Duran by a long shot.

It's as much based on opinion as it is perspective.
I completely disagree with this. Pac's skillset is very average IMO. His defense is an ordinary high guard and his overall Boxing skills are basic but quick in-out movements. His physical abilities, on the other hand, are out of this world. His combination of speed and power is amazing and he is the most athletic boxer since Roy in his prime.

Pure skills...Pea > Pac. No question.

I feel if Manny catches anybody from 140 on down in HISTORY with that HATTON KO shot. That he'll knock them out. And if he caught some of the Great 147 pounders with that, he'll Shake them up or knock them out.

I consider athletic ability part of a fighter's overall skillset. So in that regards I'd agree that based upon pure technical boxing ability Pea has the upperhand, but based upon overall boxing prowess Pac takes the cake because of his speed, power, rhythm, and certain other abilities that people overlook.

Such as the fluidity of his punches, the ability to throw a power punch in positions where most boxers are unable and his uncanny ability to find gaps from which to land his straight left.

The only thing that impressed me from Whitaker was his ability to dodge a punch and counter. Pac has that too, but to a lesser degree.

this "having more skills" thing is close to being meaningless...

sumbu kalambay is obviously more skilled than monzon but where on earth could u get sum1 who will tell u kalambay is a greater fighter?

                  these skills thing is misleading...

i think some people are so mesmerized by pac right now that the lack of knowledge in the sport is overwhelming them. no way pac beats sweetpea or dlh prime. everything stated today about pac verses these two can be debated, and it has, and both sides have valid points, but when you put them together it takes someone without a blind eye to consider who is better. me myself who is a fan of all 3, stand by my initial conclusion.

i got pacquiao, and mayweather having a better chance of beating him.

ive been a sweet pea fan but he couldnt have the power to hurt manny nor stop him from coming forward.

and duran...that was my dad's favorite fighter growing up. but i cant see him beating manny at 140+
