      Really now?

      Oscar faster than Pac?

I don't swallow the BS that older fighters are better than modern ones.

Manny Pacquiao gives any welterweight in the past 50 years hell. Beyond 50 years I wouldn't know.

Well most of the posters in here dont accept that fans like you tend to pick fighters of your (this) era because they have not taken time out to go back and watch these fighters to get a true understanding of what their capabilities in onder to form and well informed opinion on who would win, or who is better.

Im not talking about 4/5 of their biggest fights either im talking about 20/25 of their fights to understand what kind of fighter they really were.

Its got nothing to with Whitaker being favoured to beat Pac because he is an older fighter, however its got everything to do with the fact he was one of the best counter punchers of all time, well much better than Morales & JMM anyway, had a better jab than Morales, JMM, and was quicker of hand & foot, left handed and smarter than any fighter Pacquiao has ever been in the ring with.

its the sign of the times, most fans on this site have only been fans for 10 years or less. us older fighters/fans have been around since the early 80's and know from memory, not youtube. the sweetness wins by late ko or decision.

            Fans like me huh?

You're a bit to quick to pass judgment. The only fighter I've mentioned was Pacquiao and most people agree Pacquiao is a throwback.

A lot of other fighters were great in a time where boxing matches were held much more often, but there are still plenty of throwback fighters in our modern time. I reject the notion that just because a fighter came from the golden age of boxing means that he could destroy a fighter in our current era. Whitaker was great, but not any greater than today's greats.

Pacquiao's legacy will age like wine and in 20 years time people will look at you funny if anyone in that era says that the greats of that time would beat him.

Was born in 89, I wasn't a fan of Boxing untill 2000 or 2001 (Can't remember )but I got nothing but love for Whitaker. I've seen all of his stuff man, a boxer I would really love to meet.
