Miguel Cotto is going to retire a fighter that never won a world title
from the actual fighter. I always thought Cotto was a work in progress
and if he had a better team and trainer from the start of his career to
teach him defense and how to think for himself in the ring he could
have had a longer career but so much talent but reached his peak
at a young age and didn't want to push further to tap into his
    true abilities.

I will not support Cotto until he gets a decent trainer such as Nancho Berstein.

It's not coincidence that his skills declined once he left Evangelista.

But I always said Cotto should have gotten a better trainer even when
he was with Evangelista Cotto. The Margarito fight showed how limited
Cotto was resource wise. He had nO real technical game plan to get out
of tough situations. Cotto should have hired a defensive trainer that
could balance that with his power.

isn't he talking about fighting yuri foreman?

btw, he's defended his title against the best out there, that's more meaningful than winning the ring title by outboxing a bum, just to hold hostage the title until you "retire"

cotto's has arguably the best WW resume of all the current fighters. that's a big achievement

and before i forget, he won the vacant title in a 5 round KO over the only guy that has beaten pwill. not so bad if you ask me

you did say it. so did i. shame that cotto hasn't seen that yet and just went a step backwards by hiring his nutritionist to train him

I use to respect what you have to say, but your as ignorant and dumb ass the rest of them...Now your disregarding COTTO after PACQUIAO prove your dumbass wrong...You guys are all the same. YOUR BOY MAYWEATHER'S BEST CHANCE IS TO BEAT PACQUIAO hiding and outpointing him. NO WAY in hell MAYWEATHER KNOCK OUT PACQUIAO, but don't you worry...PACQUIAO will beat your ****ing fraud champ...EVEN IF HE BEATS PACQUIAO, he will never be in the same category as PACQUIAO...in most people's eyes...I BEEN TELLING YOU DOUBTERS all along that, when you talk about fighting for PRIDE AND HONOR....thats what PACQUIAO is, thats why he gets better. Another thing i wanna add...I would love MAYWEATHER to fight PAUL WILLIAMS and if he beat him..I would give him more respect...but I will never ever be a fan....you can bet on that..

OH ANOTHER THING....EVANGELISTA COTTO could have trained COTTO it would have not matter...what surprise me is how PACQUIAO took COTTO's best punches and walk through it....I don't think that your boy MAYWEATHER hits harder than COTTO..

The first things he should do is hire another trainer and take a big rest, and then we will see...

But anyway, bad punching resistance, which was softened by cement-using-idiot and which got worse after beating from an ATG, is not the thing you should box fir a long time...

He just went up against one guy who had loaded gloves and another who is a freak of nature. If he does have to retire, the fight he needs to go out on is the rematch with Margarito. The hype for a farewell fight vs. the man who possibly ruined him would be epic. Imagine that fight at Madison Square Garden? Goosebumps just thinking about being at something like that.
Well said...I would love to see COTTO fight MARGARITO minus the loaded gloves..but this time COTTO should load his gloves.
