He will only retire if he loses again.

Miguel has been trough a lot of wars, but I think he isn't shot,I didnt see a shot fighter post Marg,I didn't see a shot fighter against Jennings,Jennings was an undefeated euro prospect ranked #2 by the WBO and get easely destroyed.
He managed to get a SD against Clottey with one eye,it is one of his biggest win tough he could have gone eitheir way.

He didn't look shot against Pac,he saw two warriors in the ring, but speed kills.

I hope he comes back and win a title at 154,in a third divisions.

He fought the bests, has wins over Mosley,Clottey,Judah,Torres,Quintana,Malignaggi,Ch op Chop...

    A true HOFamer,in my opinion.
wrong he has always said he would retire at 30 look it up im serious even when he was on top of his game

I hope he does last the 2 years of his contract. If he has 2 relatively easy or painlesss wins vs Castillo and Foreman than I think he'll keep going until he loses or wins a tough war. Personally, if it's 2 and out for Cotto, then I hope it's vs better competition than that. How about Berto, Cintron, Mosley, or even PWill at 154. End it with a ****. Heck even Ricky Hatton in the Garden as a farewell would be great for boxing.

Miguel Cotto's work ethic sucks. He doesn't seem to be one to really push himself in training. Everytime I see the clips of the dude working out it's like slow motion. His mitt work is lousy, his bag work is half ass, it's hard to imagine seeing him work hard.

This goes to show how truly great fighters like shane and hopkins really are!

Hopkins is well into his 40's and Shane is 38. Cotto isnt even 30 yet and he has been taking beatings over the last 4 fights. Here he is already planning his retirement and older great fighters like SHane and Hopkins are still kickin ass!!

Boxing for 2010 does not looks good I really hope Cotto fights Margarito before he retires if he doesnt he will never be GREAT b/c he did not avenge his loss if he fights Castillo, Cotto will loose my respect to me he is a good boxer but has yet reach greatness & if he wants to get a paper title at 154 he should fight the winner of Paul Williams vs Sergio Martines not ?Foreman?

actually they are kind of the same if you look at it from the perspective that Taylor's first two losses were both competitive scraps where he fatigued and lost. The first Pavlik fight he was very competitive but Pavlik's power got to him and the 2nd fight was close IMO.

It's not until later this year that we have seen Jermain lose badly

I hope Cotto wins a belt at 154, fights two more fights, one in NYC one in PR and then retires he has been a good champion and a good representative for the sport

you actually have been to his camp? That's great tell us what Miguel's routine is like because not too many people have seen a full workout of his.

oh wait you are speculating off of TV clips and Youtube uploads?

                  nevermind
