It all went overdrive when Arum came out with the "$8 million" dollars offer, The thing is people who only started watching boxing in 2006 then jumped on the bandwagon and try to go back in history (Boxrec) then come out with names like "He didnt fight Tsyzu"...or "he should have fought spadafora" etc

Not oh he couldnt have fought Tsyzu because Kosta was mandated to fight Hatton and before then he had to rematch Sharmba mitchell a fight that was suppose to happen for 2 years but because of Tsyzu's injuries the fight could have happen.

The Mayweather?morales fight couldnt have happen because PBF would have need to come down in weight which he couldnt do at the time, He couldnt even come down to 128 for a huge payday with Naz and people expect him to come down for Morales???

Morales said several times that he would go up to 130 and fight Floyd. There was no catch weight bull**** either...

Top Rank NEVER presented Team Mayweather or HBO with a contract or proposal for Mayweather to fight Margarito. That 8 Million Dollar # was just thrown around over internet websites.

Why would HBO pay for a Margarito fight (who was fighting on espn) for his WBO welterweight title he won in a vacant title bout when they can show Mayweather beat the Undisputed WW Champion for the WBC title?

All of this stuff are Myth's, Arum knew he would NEVER get a Margarito-Mayweather fight at that time, so he used his fighters name and attached it to Mayweather's. It worked and got Margarito more attention then he would have got. But in the end Margarito was a cheater so the ducking statement is really null & void after that incident...

I don't recall this. I assume you're talking about early 2001 when Floyd was tied up with Corrales and Morales had only just moved up to and won his featherweight title? The first fight with Barrera was at super bantamweight...

The Mayweather v Hamed fight was being lined up for after Hamed beat Barrera (which obviosuly never happened) in mid '01.

It wasn't just one instance. Morales called out Floyd a few times after his first Barrera fight. It was common knowledge that Morales wanted to fight Floyd, and If you followed Floyd back then, you defiantly would have heard that because a few analyst called Floyd out on it.

It's kinda like Celestino Cabellero with JuanMa. For over a year now, Celestino has been calling out JuanMa for a bout. In similar fashion, it was over a course of time that Morales kept wanting the fight Mayweather, and the same with Floyd wanting the fight with Hamed. Hamed vs Floyd didn't happen solely because Floyd couldn't make weight and Hamed had so many guys chasing him.


In all honesty, there really wasn't any justifiable excuses for not taking the fight.
Morales was a bigger name in boxing than Floyd
Morales had a huge buzz, especially since he was in FOTY with Barrera
Was willing to go to 130 to fight Floyd
Was willing to take a lesser cut of the purse

I mean I cant think of any reason why Floyd would not take the fight. The excuse Floyd made was that Morales was too small. Yet he was willing to go down in weight to fight Hamed, but not willing to face someone willing to come up to 130 and fight him. No hate, just calling it like I see it.
