hahahahaha you really are **** mcgeeyou have your facts all wrong.floyd fought in 130 up until 2002.1 of his last fight at 130 was against coralles, who woulda mangled erik morrales.so to suggest he ducked morales when instead fighting a 6' k.o machine is ******.
2nd chavez didnt fight barrera at 126 until 2002.at which point floyd was already at 135.so why on earth would he come down to fight morrales, when morrales hadnt even fought at 130 yet?please explain.he fought castillo twice, who also woulda mangled morrales,as well as sosa an ndou, who also woulda mangled morralesComment

I actually followed boxing about as close as you could back then. I think what really bothers you is it's something that you don't wanna hear.you have your facts all wrong.floyd fought in 130 up until 2002.1 of his last fight at 130 was against coralles, who woulda mangled erik morrales.so to suggest he ducked morales when instead fighting a 6' k.o machine is ******.

Second when did I ever mention anything about chavez vs Barrera. I clearly gave you a time frame from 2000-2001. Floyd was at 130, and both Morales and Barrera had moved up to FW.
3rd. Never did I say Floyd was gonna come down to fight Morales. Floyd was willing to go to 128 to fight Hamed. That is the one and only time Floyd was willing to go to that weight to fight a fighter. Morales was consider p4p one of the best fighters and was willing to go to 130 to fight Floyd yet Floyd still didn't want to take the fight. Matter of a fact there were a few boxing magazine talking about the potential matchup but nothing ever came about.
Also by you brining up NDou and Sosa...that clearly shows me you don't have a clue as to what went on in boxing back then.Comment

vivian harris called out mayweather during the pressFloyd stopped avoiding tough fights after the rematch with Castillo. After that didn't fight Stevie Johnston, Paul Spadafora, Juan Lazcano or Leonard Dorin at 135. In return fought the great Phillip Ndou and Victoriano Sosa. Calls out the winner of Freitas-Casamayor. Who both are with Showtime so is impossible to make that fight. Floyd knows that.
At 140 didn't fight a tough fighter in Vivian Harris or an awkward fighter in Junior Witter. Instead fought Henry Bruseles. Calls out Hatton and Tszyu who he knew those fights couldn't be made cuz both were under contract with Showtime. Floyd was an HBO fighter it was impossible to make the fight. Floyd knew that so Floyd called them out. Also calls out a prospect in Miguel Cotto. After he beat Gatti "calls out" Shane, when Shane was at 154, calls out Winky at 154. Basically he called out fighter who he knew it was hard to make fights with
At 147. fights Mitchell then goes and fights an overrated Zab Judah who was coming off a loss to a fighter who was not that good at all. Then not unify
turns down a career high payday but pays $750,000 in order not to fight Margarito. Instead fights Baldomir.
At 154 fights Oscar, Forrest calls him out, Spinks calls him out at 154. Floyd retires. Hatton comes calling then Floyd comes out of retirement beats Hatton. Larry Merchant asks Floyd about Cotto not that Cotto has a win over Shane. Floyd says I will retire from boxing, boxing will not retire me or something effect. And, Floyd retires then Floyd is willing to fight Oscar in a rematch set for September of 2008. Wants a bigger piece of the split Oscas says no he retires AGAIN. Shane calls him out Shane offers 8mill but is willing to negotiate. Floyd in return wants a guarantee 20mill and no less not willing to negotiate. Floyd knew he couldn't get 20mil for Shane so outpriced himself out. Roach was willing to put Pac against him. But, the #2 P4P JMM came calling and Floyd accepts. Didn't fight any of the top 10-20 WW. But, fought the #1 LW who at the time could of still made 130.
conference of the gatti/mayweather fight....
vivian went on to get KO'ed by a featherfisted
journeyman fighter named carlos maussa
harris would have been "EASY WORK"Comment

Its not about ducking its about avoiding. It is also NOT about any one particular fight he had. Its about taking his career as a WHOLE you see that he has avoided fighting the very top guys at his respective weight divisions he has been in.
Its more disappointing and frustrating than anything else since I believe he would've probably beaten most if not all those in his respective weight classes. However legacy isn't based on what might have been. Not when those might have's were your contemporaries.Comment

you use the word "duck" which implies that 1 fighter is scared to fight another correct?I actually followed boxing about as close as you could back then. I think what really bothers you is it's something that you don't wanna hear.

chavez was a typo,i had meant morrales.and so the main point of my post is that if you think morales was a bigger challenge than corrales, you need to put the pipe down.erik morales has hardly been competitive at 130.his 1 fight against a slick fighter at 130 was against raheem and it was a total schooling.so to suggest that floyd ducked him is ******.period.point blank.sosa an ndou were his last fights at 135,so the point being is how is it ducking if the fighter is facing bigger challenges?Comment

When Floyd moved up to 147 that's where he looked at things in a new perspective. Same time he became more of his "Money Mayweather" Character.
Below 147, he didn't avoid anyone and would have fought anyone and in my opinion would have beaten anyone there at the time.
People like to point to certain fighters but they forget how hard it is to make fights when you are on two separate networks and it usually takes PPV power/money to make those fights happen.Comment

You could say that pretty much all boxers have 'ducked' people in their careers. I mean who really gives a ****? Floyd has faced some damn good opposition and is most likely gonna fight pac or mosley next so people should get over him already.Comment
