Yes that fight was far out of his prime. You see, most people have a hard time wrapping their minds around the fact Stevie was one of the best fighters in the sport in his prime, cause they only remember the recent fights-Lazcanzo-Harris-and the Cherry destruction on friday night fights. That is a old, battle worn, and way to slow Stevie. The Stevie that was calling for Floyd was not a heavy drinker, not getting paid for fights do to back child support, and not out of boxing for like three years. The man you saw, was nothing like he used to be.ive only seen him fight lazcanzo i believe, and he got worked.but i'll assume thats outside his prime.but judgin by that fight,i saw nothing special,to small, and didnt seem great at anything in paticular.looked like a decent all around fighter.but paul just had some amazing hand speed that woulda troubled anybody
Many that watched Stevie in his prime would easily agree. To much inactivity, and outside the ring problems, along with some good ring wars stripped him of his prime, and the Stevie you see now is just a shell. Period.Last edited by HandSpeed303; 11-29-2009, 11:50 PM.Comment

well to each his own. I clearly remember Morales stating that he was willing to go up to 130 and fight Floyd. He was already at 126 so going up 4lbs wouldn't really be an issue. I never said Morales would destroy him etc etc...I just answered the TS question as to when Floyd first ducked an opponent.Your full of s*t you f`ing clown. At the time frame you talk about I read basically all the boxing magazines at that time and followed the sport even harder then i do now and Morales have never called out Floyd.Morales said he was interested in fighting Floyd in the future after he came up to 130.And he said Floyd would have to come down but he never called out Floyd.
I'm just curious as to why you guys ask question and get mad when you get answers you don't like....ohh wait thats right...you guys are **** riders hoping to get responses like "Floyd is God". " No one can beat Floyd" or "Floyd has never ducked anyone". Sorry I'm just the type to call things like I see it.
Im out....so to all of you d!ck riders, have a nice night and try not to suck Floyd off too hard.Last edited by Khalid X; 11-29-2009, 11:49 PM.Comment

ima fight junkie,so now i gotta probe the net and see if i can find any.any fights in paticular?Yes that fight was far out of his prime. No doubt. Let me know what you think.
The Manfredy fight is good.
Also the two Castillo fights, if you are talking about Stevie.
Plus he fought Mosley(3X) Forrest(2x) and Winky(1) in the amatures. i think those are all on youtube.
Oh, also when he destoryed Shawnba Micthell(they were both young in the game though).Last edited by HandSpeed303; 11-29-2009, 11:58 PM.Comment

Floyd stopped avoiding tough fights after the rematch with Castillo. After that didn't fight Stevie Johnston, Paul Spadafora, Juan Lazcano or Leonard Dorin at 135. In return fought the great Phillip Ndou and Victoriano Sosa. Calls out the winner of Freitas-Casamayor. Who both are with Showtime so is impossible to make that fight. Floyd knows that.
At 140 didn't fight a tough fighter in Vivian Harris or an awkward fighter in Junior Witter. Instead fought Henry Bruseles. Calls out Hatton and Tszyu who he knew those fights couldn't be made cuz both were under contract with Showtime. Floyd was an HBO fighter it was impossible to make the fight. Floyd knew that so Floyd called them out. Also calls out a prospect in Miguel Cotto. After he beat Gatti "calls out" Shane, when Shane was at 154, calls out Winky at 154. Basically he called out fighter who he knew it was hard to make fights with
At 147. fights Mitchell then goes and fights an overrated Zab Judah who was coming off a loss to a fighter who was not that good at all. Then not unify
turns down a career high payday but pays $750,000 in order not to fight Margarito. Instead fights Baldomir.
At 154 fights Oscar, Forrest calls him out, Spinks calls him out at 154. Floyd retires. Hatton comes calling then Floyd comes out of retirement beats Hatton. Larry Merchant asks Floyd about Cotto not that Cotto has a win over Shane. Floyd says I will retire from boxing, boxing will not retire me or something effect. And, Floyd retires then Floyd is willing to fight Oscar in a rematch set for September of 2008. Wants a bigger piece of the split Oscas says no he retires AGAIN. Shane calls him out Shane offers 8mill but is willing to negotiate. Floyd in return wants a guarantee 20mill and no less not willing to negotiate. Floyd knew he couldn't get 20mil for Shane so outpriced himself out. Roach was willing to put Pac against him. But, the #2 P4P JMM came calling and Floyd accepts. Didn't fight any of the top 10-20 WW. But, fought the #1 LW who at the time could of still made 130.
wHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFO FROM?Floyd offered Spadafora 1 million dollars to fight him and his team turned it down cause they new what would happen. He also ried to unify with Leonard Dorin and they did`nt want it.Floyd has been the most avoided fighter.Comment

it began in the beginning of Floyd's career. when he was fighting out of Grand rapids in the am's. this is nothing new, he has NEVER beat ANYBODY since he was in the am's..and its the same way with his pro career. I don't care how many fORMER champions he beat, I don't care how many times he has become world champion...HE IS A KNOWN DUCKER AND HAS NEVER FOUGHT ANY SEMI-GOOD FIGHTER!!! end of thread!!
...how did I do???
