It's well known that Casamayor has been washed up for a few years, he hardly fought for the last few years, except "gimme's" and, even at his best, was never any sort of attraction. That's the reason he always had difficulty making a lucrative fight.

"I'm pretty sure that he has not the kind of "millions" saved up like most of the other top guys.

          floyd/jmm did 1.05 million pay-per-views

add to that the fact that pac/cotto was priced higher than floyd/jmm and pac/cotto sold out and they didn't have to hand out any free tickets, plus pac/cotto didn't fall on a holiday, nor did pac/cotto have 6 months of promotion... adding all this up, means floyd will have to bow down to 50/50 or even 55/45 in favor of pac.
Keep hating, doubt that will happen.

Place JMM infront of someone worthwhile like Floyd...then you got alot of mexicans jumping on the JMM train to watch the fight. I think that JMM possibly made a bigger draw than what you think. I'm not taking nothing away from Floyd and his "marketing" efforts but JMM has a following, put someone worthwhile in front of him...and the fans will come out.
I see your point, so let me ask you this...

If Pac & Marquez fought last weekend & Mayweather-Cotto fought in SEPT..who does more PPV Buys?

lol...before that fight was Pac-JMM 2..(in a fight many fans thought he won).....that fight did 400k...then he goes to fight Casamayor and the fight does 100K....

after an epic disputed war with Pac he goes from 400k PPV's to 100K PPV's....that in no way shows me a HUGE following from mexican fans

This is good news for boxing. Do quality matches with well known fighters and its gonna sell, no mistery there. If only the undercard was better cause that was good exposure

Hell even Cotto's fight with Judah and Jennings did more than other Marquez PPV's
you got to be kidding me.. back when marquez and pac fought they were still highly unknown, only true boxing fans were buying it.. marquez began making a bigger name for himself after the 2nd fight.. and he only blossomed more when he ko'd un guys that had never been stopped and ranked 1, 2 in the LW division..

cotto jennings was with pavlik rubio.. and i'm not sure about the numbers for cotto/judah..

                    1) floyd makes a great villian, but you can't give him all the numbers, he was the B-side

                    2) pac/dlh was during the worst part of the recession... dlh was supposed to be the villain, but he didn't play the part of the bully as well as floyd

regardless, pac is an international superstar and floyd is a C-lister in America

then the fight isn't happening and floyd will have to fight mosley or retire.

                      Reality.

You guys have to remember a critical point. That is, that until Mayweather fought Oscar his fights ALWAYS "stunk out the house" with half empty arenas and paying customers leaving before his fights were finished etc.

He fights much the same way today as before, and the drawing power he has depends mainly on his "fishmouth" and the carefully protected "O".

People don't come to see an excellent, skilful fight, they come because of the opponent's drawing power, and the desire to see Mayweather beaten, so that his very disliked persona can be legitimately criticised.
