I disagree JB, his last PPV in 2008 vs Casamayor was the worst PPV HBO had last year with only 100k.......where were all the mexican fans? And that was a fight with another Latin fighter in the main event....

        PPV Buys

Cotto's fight with Pacquiao 1.25 >>>>>> Marquez fight with Mayweather 1.0
Cotto's fight with Margarito 450K >>>>>> Marquez fight with Pacquiao 400K

Hell even Cotto's fight with Judah and Jennings did more than other Marquez PPV's

& even that is a success. that was billed as a mismatch & money grab by oscar & in the midst of bad recession, a loss to pink floyd where the fight was unexciting, & it still did over a mill.

YOU MUST BE MENTAL DEFECTIVE. the fact that an american boxing superstar only outsold a non american with horrible english from the 3rd world by only 100k with hatton & now outsold him with no american involved is amazing & a bad look for an alleged american boxing superstar when the country has to turn to a non american who barely speaks english for boxing entertainment.

          pink floyd already lost.

Bottom line is this you can't say Pacquiao is the bigger draw when Floyd holds the record for most PPV buys in boxing history..End Of Story

Gayweather is working very hard at sucking dela hoya's **** to negotiate a deal that will favor him against Pacquiao. But it won't happen...

              Dela Hoya is Gayweather's pappi.

But why when Mayweather fought DLH (in the biggest fight in boxing non HW) was 2.5 Million....then 2 years later when Pac fights Oscar he does over a million less 1.25 TO BE EXACT???

I wonder why De La hoya didnt reach the 2 mill mark like he did vs Mayweather when he fought vs Pac?....

Pac-Cotto did the same as De La Hoya-Pacquiao

Cotto does very very decent PPV #'s by himself.....Marquez doesnt...

Marquez's PPv before Mayweather he did 100K...lol..the worst for HBO in 2008.....

So a guy who isnt a PPV fighter fights a guy coming out of retirement and they do over a mill?..........................Then Pac (a PPV fighter) gets with Cotto (another PPV fighter) and they barely beat the Numero Uno #'s and you think its miraculous?.....

Also did you take into consideration the "Fire Power" PPV card was $20 more than Numero Uno?.......MAYBE THATS WHY THE FIRE POWER #'S ARE MORE?

I understand your logic to some degree. Casamayor isn't a draw lol, he doesn't have a huge following therefore, a JMM victory isn't a mainstream event. Going to your original point, Floyd is a boxer that has lots of fans, right? People are willing to buy his PPV, right? He's crossed over, right? Place JMM infront of someone worthwhile like Floyd...then you got alot of mexicans jumping on the JMM train to watch the fight. I think that JMM possibly made a bigger draw than what you think. I'm not taking nothing away from Floyd and his "marketing" efforts but JMM has a following, put someone worthwhile in front of him...and the fans will come out.
