Who cares if it's a catch weight as long as both fighters agree and both come in at the weight. It's only a problem for fighters who only want to fight at their comfortable weight. If it helps a fight get made it's a good thing. Maybe it's time for other fighters to be willing to move up or down. It sure is a good way for a guy to duck every other weight class because it doesn't seem feasible for him to change 7-10 lbs. But, if he only has to go 3-5 lbs. to a catch weight then it's good for boxing.
I'd say on this one though, it hsould be at 140, no higher. It's not even an interesting fight anymore if Marquez has to lose his speed coming up to 145. It's good for Pac but not for JMM. I'll be pissed--and I think any real boxing fan will be too--if Pac-Money doesn't get made. What's the point in just watching fights? we all want to know--who's the best?

Dude, you are funny man! I mean fatten up to 147???? Don't you know anything about boxing and how the weigh works? A lot of guys that fight at 135 can show up weighing 150lbs come fight night! That's not difficult and doesn't affect the body. Hell, you could be 135 and drink a gallon of water or 2 before weigh time and be all set and then it disppears in hrs with no harmful affect to the body....so, no Pac didn't necessarily have to fatten up as you call it. Come on man....foreal!!!

Well at 145, I see Marquez losing badly, but if he were to come in at 139 and hopefully weigh 143-144 fight night, Manny would probably only out weigh him by 4-6 lbs not much, could still be somewhat competitive since their last fight Marquez was the smaller man and looked good (think he was 141-142 fight night don't remember), I see Manny beating him now but atleast at that weight it will be a bit more competitive than at 145.
