This catchweight crap is getting tired. Mayweather should sign to fight Pac at 145 if he has to do it to get the fight made, but then just come in at 147 like he did against Marquez. The WBO should not let Pacquiao continue to hold the belt if he refuses to fight anyone at 147. It doesn't matter is Roach likes 145 lbs, the division limit is 147.

At 145 Pac comes in over 150 no doubt. It's not so much about JMM being able to go at it with a bigger man while he is at an effective weight (people forget that JMM fought a JWW in Pac in the rematch. Pac was the bigger fighter.) it's that JMM is not effective over 140. We know this.

i dont support it. im going by manny's word that he's ok between 140-147. he doesnt even fill up really well at 147, although he got the WW power. 140 would be fair for jmm imo.

Yeah im sure they would want the fight at 145 where MArquez does not stand a chance. Typical Roach and Manny ***** ****. The fight would be more competitive at 140 so therefore Roach and Manny want no part in a JMM vs PAc at 140lbs. Roach and Many are both bitches!!!!!!

no no no thats chicken**** , roach knows very well no way in hell jmm has any chance at 145lbs ,im really tiring of this they just dont want to take risks, fight mosley or retire. pac is a welterweight even 135 is too much for jmm 140lbs is pushing it i hope jmm isnt ****** enough to take that fight.cotto fight we all knew he was damaged goods from margarito and has looked like **** since, jmm mosley and these other guys actually fight dudes on winning streaks not losing streaks too much handpicking going on here pac is dangerous he needs to fight the best already.mayweather mosley or retire.

I agree! At 145, JMM stands no chance...Pacquiao is pulling a ***** move if they fight at 145....fight at 140 and then we have a real fight.

It was the contracted catch-weight for last Saturday's bout with Miguel Cotto, where Pacquiao captured the WBO welterweight title with a twelve round stoppage. Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach would also like 145-pounds as the contracted weight for a super-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. If a deal for Pacquiao-Mayweather falls apart, a likely option is a trilogy bout with Juan Manuel Marquez. One would expect for that fight to take place at junior welterweight, but Roach would want that fight to be a welterweight title defense at, you guessed it, 145-pounds. [details]

Manny does not need a fight with JMM. This fight is no longer relevant as far as I'm concerned. Even though I think he would KO Marquez this time around if the fight were to happen --Manny needs to fight the winner of the Berto Mosely fight and then a clash with Mayweather in the end of the year.

not really.....the difference here is, this is a total ***** move, b/c why on earth would you duck a guy, and make a fight with a guy he just destroyed?

but if floyd would be a ***** on the negotiations i think marq and pac 3 will be at 140-143....
have you just started watching boxing? floyd has no options? mayweather-marquez II is out the door, b/c there is NO reason for that fight...

but you must be crazy if you think mosley or berto, would choose a fight against manny OVER a fight against floyd, if given the choice.

the ONLY reason berto would get a fight quicker with manny than floyd, is because they have the same promoter....

a fight with floyd>>>one with marquez, for 2 reasons....more money, no ****** ass 145 catchweight. it'll be at the full WW limit, since last time i checked, mosley, berto, manny, and floyd were all WW's......SMH

fight should be at 147. manny is a 147 title holder now. can't call yourself the "Super Champ" at 147, if you're scared to fight at 147.

Catch weight non title fights are fine. But you can't limit the champion for the title. Someone stated earlier that they understood Pac fighting Cotto at a catch weight of 145 because Pac hadn't been tested with a true elite welter. So is it fair to say that he still hasn't been tested since Cotto wasn't allowed to defend his title at the weight he won it at? For anyone to assume that a pound in weight can't make a difference knows little about the sport. Fighters dare to be great by moving up and taking on gatekeepers of the division. That's why they're called gatekeepers. For example Luis Collazo is a great test for any elite fighter moving into the division. That's not a shot against Collazo. He's a great great fighter.

The reason PBF and Pac have not disclosed their unofficial weights in their last fights is because now weight is going to be a huge factor in the negotiations. Everybody is going to put their poker faces on and every pound will be negotiated. Weight could determine whether this fight happens or not. Either have championship fights in the proper divisions or move on.
