    Pacquiao achieved a lot, though.

Is this all coming out because of last night's Pacquiao-Cotto fight? I've seen quite a lot of insecurity from the Floyd fans today. Nobody else though. Why is that?

Now since we are using the RING magazine titles to give Manny Pacquiao his 7th title in his 7th weight class, You guys should have no problem in using the RING Magazine rankings on top 10 fighters in the last decade to determine Who the Fighter of the ENTIRE Decade should be.

      Year 2000:
Manny Pacquiao Not Even Ranked on the P4P List

when he has been a pro since 1995..

Floyd was Ranked on Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound list for TEN consecutive years. 10 years.

Pacquiao was has only been on there half of that time!

Floyd has spent Three and a half years Atop of that List: 2005,2006,2007, End Jun/2008 (retire)

If Pacquiao is the best fighter on this ENTIRE decade then how is it that for half of the decade he wasnt even ranked in the top 10?

While Mayweather has been at the TOP for the ENTIRE Decade???

Why didnt all the boxing experts rank Pacquiao higher than Mayweather
      in
      1998
      1999
      2000
      2001
      2002
      2003
      2004
      2005
      2006
      2007
      2008
If Pacquiao is the Fighter of the decade?

PACQUIAO IS THE MOST IMPROVED FIGHTER OF THE DECADE.
NOT THE FIGHTER OF THE DECADE!
BECAUSE HE DID NOT DOMINATE THE WHOLE DECADE!!
BUT HE HAS IMPROVED THE MOST THIS DECADE!!
      (Hands Down)

PACQUIAO IS THE MOST IMPROVED FIGHTER OF THE DECADE.

Sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due, and right now credit is due. Manny Pacquaio is the pound 4 pound best fighter in the sport today.
And The most improved Fight of the Decade!!

LOL!! What does ranking have to do with being fighter of the decade?? Check out how many fighter of the year a fighter has won for this decade.

It is about time if you are talking about a decade.

Prime Example, Lets say we were picking a team of the decade.
I am pretty sure people would argue for the spurs.

But the fact of the matter is for the entire decade.
The Lakers has been in 6 of the 10 championships
          and won 4 of them.

While the Spurs have been in 3 of the last 10 championships
          and won 3 of them.

We can say the spurs have accomplish alot in this decade, but they have not
dominated or been a force in the entire decade like the Lakers has.

          Similar to Pacquiao and Mayweather.

We can say the Pacquiao have accomplish alot in this decade, but he have not dominated or been a force in the entire decade like the Mayweather has.

From Start to Now Mayweather has been at the TOP!
But we can not say that about Manny Pacquiao.

But what we can say is that he has improved the most out of all fighters this decade.

This is what I've been trying to say.

Again, if I achieved what Floyd achieved in ten minutes, I am a badass and I rule.

Basically, Manny shat on Floyd's accomplishments from a great height. I think Floyd fans realize this, hence why were in threads like this. No disrespect Horus, but Manny is the best. End of. We might not ever see another fighter like this in our lifetime.

A decade means ten years but they are talking about 2000-2010 I am sure. Pac has done quite abit from then I think with Barrera as the start in 2001/02 I think.

Rankings matter, but he beat some good competiton from then.

This is getting too long winded.
Look, time is irrelevant, it's all about what you've done. There is no way Floyd is fighter of the decade. He just won't be awarded that luxury.

Barrera was 2003, but yes, you're right.

Well the thing with Pac is, after he beat his first mayor big name scalp, which wasnt that long ago, he has beat name after name with not that much time in between.

So basically he hasnt wasted time, but has cleaned up very fast.

                    • Mayweather first fight @ 135 = Emmanuel Augustus
Pacquiao first fight @ 135 = David Diaz
Mayweather first fight @ 140 = DeMarcus Corley
Pacquiao first fight @ 140 = Ricky Hatton
Mayweather first fight @ 147 = Sharmba Mitchell
Pacquiao first fight @ 147 Oscar De La Hoya

It took Mayweather 2 years to make the transition from Lightweight to Welterweight, it took Pacquiao 7 months. Pacquiao has fought a better fighter @ 147 within 1 year of going there than Mayweather has in 4 years there.
