NOT A CHAMPIONSHIP ORG. Like WBC, or WBA. but an opinion Mag.
The Ring titles were LINEAL and can be traced decades back. You know... "the man beating the man."

It's FACT and not just an opinion of a mag... LOL!

Horus you do not seem to get it. Fighter of the decade does not mean they even have to have that 10 year longevity.

What it basically means is who has done more inside that 10 year span of time, not what they did in each of those 10 years.

If a fighter came along and destroyed every fighter in his path including top P4P guys, then retired after a small three year window, he can still be regarded as the fighter of the decade.

It is also normal for the lower eight class guys to be off of the Ring Magazine's radar. Manny was not even paid attention to until he fought in the States, but he was still in the process of building a legacy.

Manny took the long hard back road to the top. That will always, 100% of the time trump the guided road. Floyd was given the blessed loyalty treatment from day one and had things easy. Manny chipped away until he got attention, stumbled a couple times, fought harder and better until he demanded his place. In that time he stepped right over Floyds accomplishments and is still marching forward.

Prior to Cotto, Pac fought and won in divisions in a span of a little over the year to really put Floyd's resume to shame. The Cotto demolition job with the 7 division feat bonus this weekend just puts some more distance between Pac and Mayweather's legacies. That and when you lump in the superfights he has won since Barrera, then his record is really the best out there that have been made over the past 10 years.

It's simple really... he may have been off the radar in the early part of the decade but when considering fighters within the decade it's Pac who turned out the most accomplished and with the most impressive victim/opponent credentials by the end of this decade.
Pacquiao is the most improved fighter of the decade by far.
He has come from being knock out twice, Outboxed and given a draw, Outboxed and beating beat, and Outboxed and winning by 1 point.
To now becoming a offensive force...!!

He used to be a 1 handed fighter.
        Not no more.

He has improved better than anybody I have ever seen.
        But key word is improved.

Mayweather has dominated for 10 years straight.
Mayweather has done everything he has done while remaining undefeated.

Mayweather and Pacquiao have fought 3 of the same opponents in both of their last 5 fights.

So the opponent selection is a wash.

My argument is Pacquiao can not be fighter of the DECADE because he hasnt
dominate for an entire DECADE. that simple.
But he has improved the most in this decade.

Manny Pacquiao has fought the better opposition over the last 10 years, and won the same amount of belts in the same amount of weight classes as Floyd... try explaining otherwise.

            I like that.

Reminds me of when I got to the last level on WipeOut 2097 on PlayStation 1. It was too hard and tricky, so I thought "**** this!" and waited at the finish line, but turned my ship around, waited for the bastards to come near when they'd completed a lap, and then blasted them. I cruised to the finish line and won.

If you can't beat 'em, cheat. Just don't say that to Margarito.

He remains undefeated but against whom? Against fighters who would pale in comparison to the best in Pac's resume who mostly Pac had vanquished while moving up the scales.

What's worse for Floyd is that his comp has been mostly getting rather mediocre in the latter stage of his career and he has failed to fight any of the best fighters in his current division.

The question you have to ask yourself is why is he so improved?

I get where you're coming from, but why is it necessary to dominate the entire decade? If you can do what he's done in such a short span of time, it's hard to argue with. You don't have to dominate the entire 10 years, but rather, achieve the most. He's done that.

Fighter of the decade is Pacquiao, no question about it.

Because he fought the better competition. It forces you to improve, you have no choice unless you don't mind failing.
