Williams had no problem making it before, of course he can do it again with the proper time.

How much time is enough? 6 weeks for 6 extra pounds should be nothing to someone who's job it is to work out if they're actually capable of getting there without harm. He's done at 147. That's why he lost to Quintana...too much stress. Went for that knockout quick in the rematch cause he knew he would have no stamina.

Peterson uses the words "spank" and "butt" in nearly every other paragraph tha he speaks in. I noticed that in other interviews, too.

Anyways- I think it is real suspect that Pavlik is suddenly rejuvenated enough to schedule a fight with a nobody. Something is up.

Likely Williams will not even get by Martinez who is a bigger, stonger and more skilled version of Carlos.

I don't deny it looks terrible I said as much in an earlier post.

I'm just gonna give Pavlik the benefit of the doubt because he always took the tough fights coming up and went out of his way to please fans by fighting Hopkins.
Plenty of other fighters have never taken a tough fight and have pulled out of other fights on top of it and Pavlik has always earned his shots the hard way.

If he doesn't make a concentrated effort to fight Williams next I will be very disappointed but I truly believe he is more disappointed about the current situation than boxing fans are.

To think that Pavlik is happy and relieved to avoid Williams to fight off HBO for probably 20% of the purse and have the boxing community **** all over him is just ridiculous.

pavlik took the hopkins fight b/c it was the biggest fight for either man at the time, and pavlik, like most of you, thought he would "walk through" hopkins....

I don't see what the problem is with Pavlik taking this fight. He said weeks ago that he wanted to fight PWill on the 19th instead of the 5th so his hand could have more time to heal. Team PWill said whatever and moved on. He's fighting Martinez because he didn't want to wait a few more weeks for Pavlik. Is Kelly supposed to sit on the sidelines forever? I don't get why people think Pavlik is scared of a welterweight who's unproven at 160. If Kelly doesn't mention Paul's name after the Espina fight then it's fair to rip him. If Paul would've agreed to the Dec. 19 date, he and Pavlik would be fighting. But he wanted to move on, so Pavlik now has no choice to move on.

Pavlik had been scheduled to fight Paul Williams on October 3. Pavlik was plagued by a staph infection in his left hand; forcing him to withdraw from the fight. The event was pushed to December 5. I'm a Pavlik fan,he's fighter who come to fight.

Of course a fighter like Hopkins in a catchweight trap will always expose this one dimmensionnal skinny dude.

1st,Pavlik obviously had a staph inf in his hand like WE ALL SAW with the press conf pictures.

He needed to be at the top to fight Williams and so 15 more days,Williams is fightin Martinez,so they picked somebody else 15 for 19th,and don't care about what Peterson would say.

Pavlik would not be ready for the 5th,and the fact that he fight a bum the 19 th doesn't mean duckin at all.

He didn't have a staph infection anymore,the reason why they pulled out and asked for 15 more days was because Pavlik was still recovering.

Pretty different.

I think they tried to fight Williams for real,and took TOO MUCH risks cuz Kelly's hand wasn't 100% ok.
I blame more the doctors and top rank than Kelly.

They should have not try to make this fight.

Kelly to me is more a victim of Top rank's greedy moves...

But whatever,he's done on every points,he's done phisically,mentally and in the eyes of people.

Pavlik is better han Williams so I highy doubt he was afraid to fight, have been dissapointed with him this past year but hopefully he will get back on track next year. As for Williams he can do what Pavlik did and keep fighting till he earns a shot.

HBO said the 19th wasn't available. Top Rank confirmed this. Where would Pavlik and Williams fight? on Top Rank pay-per-view? Take out the HBO license fee of 3.2 million and there isn't enough money to make that fight.
