well im a haye fan and im glad he won but to be honest i think he didnt do enough to come away with the decision, again this is when compubox helps cause he barely threw a punch. if haye won that how the hell did direll lose?
im still glad hes the champ though as hes good for the heavies and when he fights people closer to his size he will show what hes capable of im sure. he showed when he actually throws punches what he can do he wobbled valuev and it wasnt even a flush shot! he just took the gameplan he was given a bit to extreme.. everyone was talking bout his stamina but im tellin you this hes an incredible athelete, just take a look at his body, before he had the barret fight i know that for his training he was doing 100 x 100 metre sprints in a row 30 seconds rest in between each one and he had to get under 14 seconds each time. so how there was a question mark over his stamina i have no ideaComment

He was one-handed for most of the fight because his right hand was badly injured in the second round. Even so, he tried to KO Valuev, hurt him several times, and came closer to putting him down than anyone ever has before. Floyd never goes for the knock-out unless it's completely risk-free. He could have KO'd Marquez if he'd been willing to take any risks to do it, but he wasn't.Comment

Um, you're confusing the 12th with the 2nd.hmm Cliff Rold thats not very accurate is it :
causing a pause in the giant before Valuev shook his head and then began his march forward again.
i think you need to watch it again but this time take the biased shades off!
Valuev got ROCKED, STUMBLED , DONE THE CHICKEN DANCE and would of been knocked down if the ref didnt jump in!
Arent you boxing writers meant to be impartial?Comment

Almost all the clean and effective power punches that were landed by anyone were landed by Haye. All that Valuev landed was jabs, and most of his jabs that landed at all didn't land cleanly.
Most people did score the Froch-Dirrell fight to Dirrell.
Both fights were close and difficult to score. They weren't robberies and wouldn't have been robberies if the other fighter had won.Comment

Yeah, because if I'd have picked the other way, the fight would magically have not ******. I actually think Haye fought the fight he needed to, stylistically, to win. Didn't think he had it in him to be that disciplined.Last edited by crold1; 11-07-2009, 08:05 PM.Comment
