      Exactly. I been trying to say the same thing. When it was reported that Haye broke his hand in round 3, somebody piped up "Duh... so why did he run for the first two rounds?", and my reply was pretty much what you said.

      Only a complete ****ing imbecile goes straight to war in the first round with a guy that outweighs him by 100lbs and has a height advantage of about 12". It's a ridiculous thought that anyone was convinced Haye would go in there and bomb him out.

      As for Haye predicting a KO, well WTF... how many fighters don't predict a KO? I can think of one who doesn't -- Manny Pacquiao -- but he's an exception to the rule. The majority hype themselves up. It's normal.

      Haye talks... then talks some more... and then he talks again. This is exactly why we are sitting here talking about him in return. Don't believe everything you hear coming out of this small heavyweight's mouth, especially when facing the biggest heavyweight in history.

        He threw fewer punches partly because his hand was injured and partly because of the size and reach discrepancy. Few people (i.e. only extreme haters) would **** on Floyd if he fought defensively against a far bigger and stronger fighter than himself who had a huge reach advantage over him. The reason he gets so much criticism for his defensiveness is that he fights defensively even when he's completely dominating, and even against smaller opponents.

        I also don't understand those who say it was totally boring. I thought there was a fascination in seeing how he would be able to dodge Valuev's attacks, a bit like watching a matador in a bullfight. And all of the hard, clean punches that were landed by anyone were landed by Haye.

        I agree it wasn't a performance to set the world alight, but taking into account his injured hand, I think it was pretty good.

        PS - why have you changed your screen name, just out of interest? Did you get bored with the old one?

          Valuev got ROCKED, STUMBLED , DONE THE CHICKEN DANCE and would of been knocked down if the ref didnt jump in!

              Before the decision was announced i really did not beleive Haye had the win, not in a foreign country and expected Valuev's arm to be raised, but what we actually saw was a masterclass and a lesson to Dirrell and idiot's who moan on about some robbery that never took place in how to conduct yourself especially in a title fight whilst employing hit and run tactics to win a fight.

              You know what David Haye actually did was right out the top draw, to box at that level, with that intensity, against a guy that much bigger, in a foreign country, in a title fight in which he was the challenger and not put a foot wrong or leave a chin out of place all night is a pretty tough task and it was done, well.

              Dirrell and fans should take a long hard look at this fight and ask themselves if Dirrell deserves to be WBC champ. We saw no holding from Haye, no complaining to ref, no falling to his knees if he found himself in an uncomfortable position, and no bending at the waist and we can guarantee if we did see those things he would not have got the decision.

              If Dirrell was WBC champ now it would be nothing short of a disgrace.

              Respect to David Haye

                  I think Valuev is lucky not to have gotten KO'd. Haye has dynamite in those fists.

                    Just watched that fight again and am even more convinced that it was a masterclass in phsycology.

                    Yesterday a close score seemed correct, today the 116-112 seems too close, then it's not easy to read the fight from the back of a pub.

                    Haye will beat both Klits.

                    Haye = P4P fighter.

                      I had it 114-114 a piece but was glad Haye got the verdict, Valuev is boring and only got where he is by being bigger than everybody else. Haye was the only one throwing punches with any venom, Valuev was just single jabbing and hardly caught Haye clean the whole fight. I think Haye should've been more busy but the hand injury probably explains why he wasn't and also explains why he didn't knock him out. When a fighter shakes his head like Valuev did that normally means he's hurt but he's trying to pretend otherwise. I'm not sure if the writers American as I didn't even bother looking at his name but American writers don't seem to like Haye but he did a bit better than Fat Arreola and would knock both Ruiz and Cris out. British writers are crap too, in The Sunday Times this morning one wrote that Haye had been 'knocked cold' by Carl Thompson and that Vitali just had 1 defeat (to Lewis) he forgot Chris Byrd and that Haye was still swinging when the fight was rightly stopped against Thompson. Anyway most journos are rubbish but what can you do?
