Cotto looked better against Jennings than Clottey

I know that Clottey is a much better fighter than Jennings but aside from that, look at Cotto.
His speed, defense and power were a lot better in the Jennings fight than the Clottey fight.
Maybe it has to due with his trainers? Santiago's first job of training Cotto was for the Clottey fight. Maybe Evangelista was better as the trainer.Comment

Okay. Back now.
I don't know why people keep telling me that Clottey is better than Jennings. It's pretty obvious. I'm not talking about the comparison of how dominant he was in both fights. I'm talking about how his attributes were. Like speed and defense. Forget the opponents. Look at Cotto alone.
When I said that Cotto's punching speed was a lot faster in the Jennings fight, you said it's because Clottey was a better opponent. What does that have to do with it? Because his opponent is named Clottey his punching speed is reduced? It doesn't add up. Your speed is your speed. It has nothing to do with who you fight.
When I said defense wise he was better, it's because he had more body movement in the Jennings fight. If you're going to fight someone like Clottey, body moment is needed and I didn't see that much of it compared to when he fought Jennings. It's obvious that Clottey's punches are harder to block. I'm just saying that Cotto didn't use his body movement like he did in the Jennings fight. If you think that's not true then I don't know what to tell you.
How much you get hit varies. Cotto's style is the peek-a-boo style. That involves keeping your hands high (which he did in both fights) and good body moment (not so much in the Clottey fight). That's why I'm saying his defense was worse.Comment

By your logic Pac looked much faster and with a better defense against David Diaz then he did against Marquez, It's all about how skilled your opponent is and how much harder it is to do something against an elite fighter then it is to do it against a good one.Comment

When did I even mention Pacquiao in this whole thread? I'm talking about Cotto.Comment

I was using Pac as an example of your faulty logic, if you want to discuss this like an adult then read both my posts and give me a better arguement then that, as of right now your not making sense.Comment
