Williams is very good and I think the only way you beat him is to put him in the ring with a good, strong pressure fighter in the 60s. If Margarito was a bigger man he would of had the skills to beat Williams but being that Margarito was a 147 guy he wasn't able to. Pavlik would beat Williams.
Martinez is a pure boxer who can mix it up. He may have close to a 50% KO ratio, but he had enough pop to knock down Alex Bunema and KErmit Cintron. As a matter of fact, Martinez wins fights on skill where as Williams wins fights on physical advantages.

The odds are with Williams and I agree with them, but Martinez has more than enough skills to derail Williams. Williams will be coming at Martinez, Martinez will not be mobile. He has the stamina to box 12 rounds.

This is a 50/50 for me. I'm just glad its happening. I'm a fan of both fighters.

Same here, man. I still think Martinez has a good shot though.

Pointless then, but I don't care. Still an entertaining fight that can go either way.

Maybe Martinez doesn't care about the fight being at 160 because then it will be a non-title fight and he thereby protects his title in the (likely) event of a loss.
thats the only thing I can think of really.... but props to both sides making this fight happen on such short notice.... I have a lot of respect for both men making this fight happen.... the only thing these two care about is fighting and thats what us fans love to see.... we need more guys like these two!

screw clottey, I don't wanna hear **** from him until he beats someone worth a damn... could of had his biggest payday ever and great name to put on his resume if he won, but instead came up with just about every excuse in the world for this fight to not happen.... Sergio should send him a x-mas card thanking him for his biggest payday ever!

Its too bad the Pavlik fight fell through, but at least we are getting a big fight now.
This is a competitive match, Martinez might have the exact skill set to out box Williams and win a decision.
