With regard to how this measures up with Pac, I totally agree with the poster.. It doesn't look good for Cotto.. Malignaggi landed with ease, so there's no reason to suggest Pac won't do it harder and more often.. Add this to the fact that an, 'on the slide' Ricky Hatton seemed to have an easier nights work than Cotto..

    The omens are bad..

I agree with everything except for how this fight would affect the outcome of the Pac-cotto fight, I dont think this fight would have any bearing on the outcome of the fight to be fair, The fight was four years ago and paulie M was the first speed/boxer/mover that cotto had to face who really had a chance to outbox cotto and for most part cotto did well.

Before Cotto, no one had ever been able to even land a punch on Malignaggi.
Cotto not only was able to hit him but was able to knock him down and break his jaw.

Malignaggi was basicly fighting a man who is considered by most a one handed fighter, that being his left hand. He broke his left hand, thus he was fighting a man with no hands
I guess it was pretty impressive of Malignaggi fighting a man with no hands after the 5th lol

LMAO. He hurt his right hand too in that fight. Cotto also said he had to fight in spurs because he needed to conserve energy do to the drainage!!

Still that version of Cotto pre-Margarito was faster and fresher and with better reflexes. I dont say that its set in stone that Pacquiao is going to win the fight but he apprears to have the better changes of the two fighers.

Fact is that styles make fights and to me this is a bad matchup for Cotto, as simple as that because as for quality they are for me at the same level, Pacquiao maybe a little bit more gifted, Cotto maybe a little bit a better technician and heart of a champion 50/50.

that was a different Cotto.. and also a different Paulie.

Cotto weigh in for the Malignaggi fight

Malignaggi looks bigger than Cotto so do I need to say more? People will never understand Cotto was weight drained vs Malignaggi, broke his hand and still beat the **** out of Malignaggi.

I would not call these hands but this is what Malignaggi has to work with

When the fight was made by looking at Malignaggi face I thought it was a massacre with all the blood and his jaw broken and that he didnt touch Cotto at all. However watching at the film now it was a different story, I found the bout very competitive and I think Cotto did very well and deserved the decision.

Now my question is, based on this fight what is your expectation for the Cotto-Pacquiao fight? I think had Magginagi more power with the amount of punches that he connected on Cotto he eventually would have won the fight.

Now you know Pacquiao is heavy handed and his accuracy is way superior to Malignaggi and also his volume punching and look a how he was beating Cotto to the punch, realistically how do you think Cotto will manage to handle Manny? and even though his jab could be an answer but will it be an answer the whole fight if the fight extend to the later rounds? i see it almost impossible because eventually he would get tire and is when Manny will try to catch him with his accurate and solid combinations and the rest is history.

                      Thank you for your comments.
Pre Cotto Malignaggi actually threw with intent and had a solid jaw I would even concede to the fact that Malignaggi would be just as fast as Pacquiao with better head movement . Post Cotto Malignaggi is a nother story. The guy needed facial reconstruction.

The real question is, How well will Pacquiao respiond to Cottos heavy hands.
