Come on, now, everything isn't predicated on how the cops treat drivers. Some drivers are absolute dicks who hate cops and give them a hard time because they were pulled over. And some drivers are just dicks in general, just as some cops are dicks in general.

We disagree. Cops are taught to use de-escalation tactics. Instead they come up and act like a$$holes depending on the stop.

I don’t program the AI I what to say. I just asked it how law enforcement handles driving recklessly while open carrying in Nebraska.

And of course I’m choosing to give the men in blue every benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. They deserve as much, as they have a very dangerous job.

But people deserve to have their constitutional rights protected at all times.

I didn't tell you where I'm from to invoke fear. Why would you be afraid? You asked where I live, and I told you where I'm from. That information was meant to let you know that I know what means to be a Black man. Maryland is the Northern most state of the South, and racism is alive and well there. Especially when I grew up in the 60's 70's. But to perceive every adverse action against Black people as racist is as stereotypical as people of other ethnicities believing us all to be hoodlums.

You are dishonestly trying to make my issue with just the stop.

I have made it clear my primary issue is with the handcuffing on the curb because neither allegedly reckless driving or the gun, because they are in Nebraska, warrants it.

Crime has been getting worse here, especially in the last 10 years or so. In the Toronto area (including Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Markham, Brampton, etc) there's A LOT of home invasions/ home robberies. Lots of forced entry and families being held at gunpoint and assaulted. I see this stuff regularly on the 6 O'clock News. I just did a quick Google search "Toronto home break ins" and apparently 2025 hasn't been quite as bad as 2024 for home invasions (but we still have time to catch up in 2025).

In recent years vehicle theft has been really bad here. If you have a nice vehicle and it's parked in your driveway over night, it could be risky. There's been quite a few cases of violence involved along with the act of stealing the vehicles too. I just did a quick Google search for "Vehicle theft Toronto area" and found that again, 2025 has been a better year than 2024 in regards to vehicle theft. I would have never guessed that, because this stuff is all over the news, all the time. Almost always the targeted neighbourhoods are the upper-middle class or the well-off. Places like Richmond Hill and Markham (both are known as "good" and affluent neighbourhoods ) rarely used to have these violent invasions and robberies but they've seemingly been targeted more and more in recent times. I've always locked my doors, even back in the 1980s. There's probably a rare few people who don't lock their doors but that's a bad tactic for anyone, anywhere in the world. I might be extremely careful and paranoid though. I don't trust anyone.

Wow, that sucks. The crooks are getting smarter, realizing that stealing from the poor isn't going to get them nicer things than their bum asses already have. I live in California now, and crime is all around us. You have to be careful going to the ATM. They won't rob you there, likely because ATMs have cameras. They'll follow you home and rob you in your driveway! I hear you, brother, trust no one!

Sounds like you've had some bad run-ins with some bad cops. They're not all bad, brother.

The chief is investigating the stop because that is what he is supposed to do. They investigate any time there is an officer-involved shooting too, and so on.

Well, that, and the fact that his cops pulled over only the second Black man known in history to be from Omaha fooking Nebraska and make a big name for himself. The other man was Malcom X. And all of the cries of racism, I'm not quite understanding. I mean, they just had a parade with 100k people for Crawford! That had to be approved by the city. They couldn't have been hating on him too much.
