I wonder how good Itauma really is

Itauma is probably the best young Heavyweight on the planet. However, the Whyte fight is a good test and will show where he's REALLY at.

Maybe he is. Until he takes a decnet punch and goes 12 rounds there will be questions.

I think its important we stay grounded and don't get carried away, like you said David Price was super hyped before that it was Audley Harrison who for all the shlt we give them was destroying fighters that was levels above what Itauma has faced so far. We also had the likes of Jared Anderson who was being touted as the next big thing.

I get the excitement but there are way too many question marks. Has anyone even really attempted to even hit him? He's as untested as it gets.

Dillian Whyte was probably top 5-10 at one point, despite this I've never rated the guy. He has long arms, a bit of a left hook on him. He's been brutally KTFO 3 times with the same shot and that was years back he is now 37 and been inactive, looked terrible in his last few fights. Not sure he has ever faced a southpaw either, I'd be surprised if we learned anything new here.

I definitely see the points and argument for it could be a test but I see too often us making this argument for old, faded fighters turning the clock back and it rarely ever happens.

The southpaw stance, speed, precision, power especially early will be too much. I don't think Whyte has the chin, defence or savviness to survive or get into those later rounds.
The last time Whyte looked good was nearly 5yrs back in the Povetkin rematch where to me it was mystifying how Povetkin even passed a medical, he looked like an old man who could barely walk to the ring unaided.

I love he's in shape though, dare I say it might be the best shape I've maybe ever seen him in?

That's absolutely why he's there. They believe he's cannon fodder and can add a fairly credible name to Moses' CV.

But matchmakers do make mistakes. My money is absolutely in the same place as yours but I've got a nagging doubt with Moses being so inexperienced and completely untested.
