The right hand was all he needed. Look how far it has taken him and he started the fight game late in his early 20s. However, I do agree with you that he will never be a contender again because Father Time has caught up to him.

The right hand was all he needed until he fought Fury. Before that, the only champ he fought was Stiverne, and the only real threatening opponent he fought was old man Ortiz.

Wilder only has a chance against an absolute dead opponent in front of him. Fury took that man’s soul.

I would argue that Fury did an excellent job of eluding prime Wilder's right hand with the exceptions of rounds 9 and 12 in their first fight. This, after nearly 3 years away, eating, drinking and drugging. In their second fight, Fury never got caught and dropped at all. Of course, Deontay caught Tyson twice in the 4th round of their third fight, but Fury still prevailed. To suggest that Parker fought the same version of Wilder that Fury fought is just wrong. The man was clearly a shell of his former self vs Joseph.

The point isn't whether Fury did a good job in the first two fights... it's whether Wilder could still pull the trigger then and can't now.

Even earlier than Fury he was standing with his right hand ready for 90% of his fights without throwing it. How long did it take him to throw against Ortiz, who was just a decent boxer? Is it that surprising that a good boxer in Parker didn't give him the chance to throw it, much less land it?

So where is the evidence that he's now diminished? Yeah he's probably a bit slower, but this phantom "can't pull the trigger" problem that he supposedly developed after Fury will disappear the second they put a tomato can in front of him again.

The irony is that Wilder is now the victim of the very thing Breland tried to save him from by throwing in the towel in the 2nd Fury fight. That 3rd fight KO loss was brutal and ruined him!

I'd say 4 defeats in his last 5 fights with 3 by KO, is plenty of evidence. I'd be interested to see how he does against a determined tomato can at this point.

Yes, at this point, who will pay to see that? I'd bet that even the ever-loyal Brits might be a bit reluctant to pay for that one, unless it was held in the UK and reasonably priced.

Had Joshua not still been pissing his pants, he could have faced Wilder, rather than his sparring partner, Wallin while letting Parker effectively shut Wilder down and virtually end his career.

Joshua vs Wilder is a fight that marinated wayyyy past its use by date.
