Shakur is confused about his market value because Turki overpaid him for a couple of fights. Probably not smart for him to bite the hand that was feeding him so well. I am not sure where he is going to get more money if Turki is cutting his purse - certainly not from Oscar. Might be a time to wake up to commercial reality.

"Working to negotiate directly with the fighter – and low-balling him – when he has representation has miffed those close to Stevenson, an individual familiar with the situation told BoxingScene."......... why the fuqq would anyone be shocked at the way the Saudis conduct their business? There's no ethics in Arabic business.

It is fine for Shakur to negotiate his best deal. He should not go so hard publicly to the point they won't negotiate in good faith or not at all.

If you recall, zepeda supposedly hurt his hand and had to pull out, so schofield, then replaced zepeda. After schofield pulled out last minute, padley stepped in and turki ended up overpaying shakur to fight padley, so now turki wants shakur to take a lower offer to reconcile the over payment.

This goes to show that turki is not recklessly overpaying fighters as some here have suggested. If he was, he would have agreed to paying shakur what shakur is asking for, which was an amount that turki was originally agreeing to pay...

I was arguing with a couple of posters here a few weeks back who claimed that Turki was paying these guys endless money. My contention was that he is paying more, but not the endless amounts that some folks think he is. I might be a bit off, but I'm of the opinion that he is only paying 30% above market value...

Why not? Oscar went public with the negotiations. Unfortunately the days of men meeting for dinner in a steakhouse and making deals away from the public is over. Twitter is the new boardroom

But my thing is why couldn't anyone see this coming. Nobody in any sport is going to keep over paying people with no R.O.I. (return on investment). Damn I have been screaming this and most people didn't listen

Not up to him? Shakur just stated that he'll fight Zepeda, but not for the amount that Turki is now offering. Shakur replied to Oscar's claim that they are trying to make the fight, but Shakur is not accepting Turki's current offer.

As Lefty stated, "Shakur should take the offer and fight Zepeda"!

First of all I would like to thank Al Haymon and Bob Arum for being smart enough to see this coming and staying out the way!
