I judged farmer back when he first signed with Hearn, I’m man enough to say I underrated him greatly. That took a lot of heart to go the full 12, even without the injury, considering the amount of damage he had taken and how he went to work in the championship rounds really got my respect. I won’t comment on the clinching cause the man was damn near a one armed fighter.

Lots of respect for Farmer, really enjoyed the fight, there were two issues of annoyance for me:

      - The DAZN guys were rightfully giving Farmer his props, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a broadcast team so one-sided toward a guy who was losing the fight. Every positive comment they made was toward Farmer, they were all over his nuts, there were two fighters in the ring giving it their all.

      - This has been brought up, the holding. It was excessive, and constant, and started in round 1. Poorly officiated fight, from a referee who is usually pretty good. I actually think that version of Zepeda might stop Farmer if that wasn’t allowed.

People are saying Shakur beats Zepeda. I will say….. probably…. but a lot will depend on whether Shakur is allowed to use that same strategy.

Shakur may not have an attractive style but he lets you help him beat you up, it’s something people really dismiss because of his style but his self discipline is massively underrated. The lack of discipline was the undoing of guys like Amir khan who would get tagged and want to go straight to war without the chin for it.

It's rare you get the A-side in his home country, significantly outland the opponent and barely eke out the majority decision.

Farmer showed grit and guile but I didn't see a close fight.

I had it 7 to 5 Zepeda. He lost a few of the later rounds because he was walking forward but not throwing punches and Farmer was boxing him up like a two piece from Popeyes.

I don't think Zepeda beats Shakur, but the fight is here for the getting, so let's get it and see what's what.

There are 7 rounds where Zepeda out-landed Farmer by more than a 2-1 margin. I know compubox isn’t the be all end all, but no way should you lose a round where you’re out-landing an opponent my more than 2-1 unless you get wobbled or knocked down. So there is absolutely no way it should have been 114-114, and definitely not a robbery.

If you’re being extremely charitable to Farmer, it’s a 7-5 fight for Zepeda, which would be a credible score, 8-4 or 9-3 are also fair, anything wider than that is unfair to Farmer IMO.

Fight wasn't close AT ALL.. zepeda outlander hom 344-152!! And zepeda was digging to the body on a lot of those. Farmer gonna be pissing Kool aid for weeks. Showed top tier grit, but that's it.. 9-3 at the closest

Whoooaaaaa wait a friggin minute. Where did all the bad energy go? Why aren't we expressing the same frustration with Zepeda that we did with Boots? Jaron Ennis beat that Karen guy 12-0 in the first fight and 9-3 in the second but all I heard you guys say was "Boots got exposed". There was about 10,000 articles written and 10 million posts saying that Boots is overrated. Now that Zepeda barely won his second fight with Tevin after they cheated in the first fight for him, where you guys at???? hahahahahahaha

It was Farmer's lack of power and punch volume which cost him this fight. Sure, he landed the more accurate, sharper and cleaner punches but they were too far and in between.

He just didn't land enough of them in order to offset Zepeda's workrate. Rarely does a fighter win a fight by backing up jabbing while not throwing enough combination punches in the process.

While on the other had; Zepeda would be batting practice for Tank Davis. He is one of those type fighters that Gervonta usually shines against. Face first brawlers who are easy to find.

It's ironic that many people are claiming that a Shakur Stevenson win is a foregone conclusion but I am not one of them. Shakur doesn't like to take risks inside of the ring either.

Like Farmer; Stevenson lacks both the power and work rate to seriously threaten Zepeda too. Jabbing while constantly backing up throwing single punches at a time just won't get the job done.

One would have to throw a large volume of power punches in order to fight Zepeda off them. if not, then Zepeda would just maul the living shit out of you; Especially if you can't hit.
