    I second this

The WBA stopped making titles for about five minutes. Now they're giving a vacant "Regular" belt to the winner of Rolly Romero vs Ryan Garcia even though neither of them are welterweights and Garcia is coming off a NC and suspension for a failed PED test. Pulev has a Regular belt, Benavidez has a Regular belt, Plant has an interim belt, Akhmadaliev has an interim belt, Batyrgaziev has an interim belt, Antonio Vargas has an interim belt, David Jimenez has an interim belt, Tellez has an interim belt.

That's a full half of the men's weight divisions that currently have multiple WBA titlists. And that's not counting any Champions-in-Recess or "Gold" belts, that's just WBA world titles, Regular titles, or Interim world titles.

Chisora's getting the break here. He gets a title shot that he doesn't really deserve, and a retirement check to boot. Dubois will still have big fights and a chance to get that Usyk rematch, after he beats Del Boy. Oleksandr is motivated by fighting for his IBF title, so that he can retire as undisputed champ.

There’s far less now than there once was. The ABC should’ve kept the pressure on.

No, the WBA should just be abolished.

What possible argument is there in the WBA's favor? They've been a disgusting blight on the boxing industry for far longer than they were ever a credible organization.

                  I'd watch Chisora fight Dubois.

There's a legitimate chance Chisora would die in that fight or at the very least become a vegetable for life.

History and lineage. As I said reform over removal for me.

Their history is incompetence, corruption, and disgrace. Just because something is old doesn't mean it's worth preserving.

Lineage? They destroyed their own lineages with all their fake belts and stunts like demoting a champion so Tank Davis could fight a bum for a vacant belt.

For decades they've just done whatever promoters like King, Haymon, or Hearn told them to do. They are not just worthless, they are actively harmful to the public image of the sport. The WBA is one of the primary reasons why people think boxing is a joke and nobody can tell you who the real champion is in most divisions.
