You can never say never with Bud but this is a tall order for him. I understand Canelo's measurables aren't like a wow advantage and Bud got him on some but fact remains he is going up to 168 and nothing he's doing right now shows he can compete at that weight let alone beat the best guy up there. We saw him at 154 and some say he struggled, I say he doesn't look his very best. Coupled that with the fact that he's 38 by fight night, 15 months of inactivity and he isn't taking a fight to see how he does at 168 are all disadvantages. Of course, he 'll try his very best to win but Canelo isn't the guy to experiment against. Best of luck to him but I just don't see how he wins this fight. At least he gets a great retirement payday out of it.

he’s smaller than Alvarez but notably rangier due to his reach advantage and height

Use longer arms to box
Use speed to counter and possibly occasionally exchange
Clinch should Alvarez get into the pocket

It took Alvarez about half of the fight to ko Amir. I believe TBud defense and chin can see him to the final bell

Amir was competitive until he his chin failed him

I believe TBud has the skill and will to keep trying to win instead of going into survival mode like Charlo

That's why canelo doesn't fight threats in his weight class, he has no knees, doesn't carry power above 160. Canelo 160 & below finished his opponents now, even if they get hurt they survive so add he also has somehow lost his killer instinct
