Is Jaron Ennis vs Eimantas Stanionis fight a foregone conclusion...

    ...in Jaron's favor?

Do you think Eimantas is tailor-made for Boots?

Fans have been clamoring for this fight since time immemorial, yet it's only now that it's happening, (April 12)
a testament how slow things are moving in this sport.

The difference in class is obvious, yet I'm having a gut feeling about an upset win for Stanionis.

Thinking Stanionis will damn near need to decapitate Boots to get a decision.

        Off with his head, sir.

Ennis should be winning this fight in flying colors just based on experience. Jaron Boots got a whopping 34 bouts on his record and Eimantas only got 16.

            Have you seen Boots’s ledger
In his 20th fight , he was still facing a guy with 17 losses
            That ain’t experience imo

Ennis gets hit with stuff he shouldn't, but he's also got a 6 reach advantage. Dulorme had a 5 inch advantage though...

Stanionis strikes me as a scrapper. He's got pretty tight defense at the level he's fought at, but absorbing punches on a tight high guard still does damage, and allows his opponents to rack up points. If he can't cut the ring and Ennis wants to fight on the outside, he'll have a long night.

That being said, Ennis will likely let him into the fight. Ennis has the skills to put the fight where he wants it, but he often ends up slugging it out trying to get the finish, and I'd be shocked if he didn't end up meeting Stanionis on Stanionis' terms, and the Lithuanian's game is heavily predicated on punching with his opponents, catching them while they're trying to get their offense off. Since Boots isn't defensively responsible, Stanionis will test his chin.

Ennis is bigger, longer, stronger, and more skilled than Stanionis, and he SHOULD, on paper, win fairly easily. But I can almost guarantee that he'll make things harder for himself by making dumb strategic errors, and Bozy is almost as bad at corner advice as Teofimo Sr. If Ennis had the patience to box on the outside, rack up the points at the end of his educated jab, and wait for the mistake to land the kill shot, this would be an easy fight. But he still hasn't figured that out after 33 fights, so I won't be surprised if he has a tougher than necessary night at the office, perhaps even getting knocked down and upset.
