Fans have been clamoring for this fight since time immemorial, yet it's only now that it's happening,
(April 12), a testament of how slow things are moving in this sport.

Yeah, and it's finally happening on the DAZN platform, not PBC or Showtime.

Another fight that doesn't move the needle. Reminds me of when dlh, Mosley, etc all moved up to 154. Email Ennis proved he don't want anything to do with Bud (twice), Spence or even Virgil Ortiz. Bootsy@ss boy

Fight is just four days away. So what is the conclusion here prediction-wise? Will Ennis be sewing Stanionis away and wear another belt for the win?

So this fight is on Saturday. Thanks for reminding.

Can't wait for the clash and the result.

Booty is a runner and hugger who can punch.

Only way to beat guys like that is to not chase them around the ring, kinda of like what Roach did in the Stank fight.

So, unless Stanionis has some really good trainers that can devise a game plan that can negate's Boob's dirty, holding tactics, he's going to be tailor made for Booty.

I kinda agree with you bro. Only issue with that example is Roach and Tank are the same size and Roach can afford to stay firm in the middle of the ring and tough it out.

In cases where there's height and reach advantage, the smaller guy doesn't have any choice but to move forward to reach the opponent.

Stanionis strikes me as a scrapper. He's got pretty tight defense at the level he's fought at, but absorbing punches on a tight high guard still does damage, and allows his opponents to rack up points. If he can't cut the ring and Ennis wants to fight on the outside, he'll have a long night.

That being said, Ennis will likely let him into the fight. Ennis has the skills to put the fight where he wants it, but he often ends up slugging it out trying to get the finish, and I'd be shocked if he didn't end up meeting Stanionis on Stanionis' terms, and the Lithuanian's game is heavily predicated on punching with his opponents, catching them while they're trying to get their offense off. Since Boots isn't defensively responsible, Stanionis will test his chin.

Ennis is bigger, longer, stronger, and more skilled than Stanionis, and he SHOULD, on paper, win fairly easily. But I can almost guarantee that he'll make things harder for himself by making dumb strategic errors, and Bozy is almost as bad at corner advice as Teofimo Sr. If Ennis had the patience to box on the outside, rack up the points at the end of his educated jab, and wait for the mistake to land the kill shot, this would be an easy fight. But he still hasn't figured that out after 33 fights, so I won't be surprised if he has a tougher than necessary night at the office, perhaps even getting knocked down and upset.
                Excellent analysis.

Could you expand on how Ennis is a runner and a hugger? An example of a hugger to me would be someone like John Ruiz; a runner would be someone like Stevenson in his bouts against De Los Santos and Conceicao. How is Ennis in any way similar to what Ruiz or Stevenson behaved in the ring?

Stanionis is a subtle tricky fighter. I think this fight will be better than most think. My biggest issue is that both guys have not been that active especially Stanionis.
