80-90% of the time when you get KD you lose the round so it would be a 10-8 for Roach. In a perfect world you would get a 9-9 even round but a KD hold a lot of weight with unbiased judges. Just note that a 9-9 round is not common practice and Tank would have had to dominate which he didn't really dominate said round for the 9-9 score.

have a read of this
"Last Saturday night, Bayless called a knockdown against Manny Pacquiao in the 10th round of Pacquiao's bout with Shane Mosley, when from all angles it was an obvious shove from Mosley that put Pacquiao on the canvas"Comment

there have been instances of judges seeing that the ref was incorrect for example they saw clearly it was a slip and not a kd and adjust their scores accordingComment

I agree, it shouldve been a KD, I agree it was bonkers how the ref handled it, and it reeks of corruption. BUT, since neither party adjusted it during the fight you can't retroactively score it a KD and then assume the following rounds would stay the same thus giving the decision to Roach. Here is an example to illustrate why:
Say their is a football game going on, Home team is up 5, 2:10 left in the game. Visitor have it 4th & goal from the 9. Visiting QB throws a pass to the corner of the endzone which is caught but the receiver was ruled out of bounds. Visiting team has no more challenges and the call stands. Home team takes the ball gains a first down then kneels down for the win. HOWEVER, when looking at the replay it was clear the receiver was in bounds when he made the catch, and it shouldve been a TD. IN fact it was blatantly clear, and the ref made a horrible mistake.
Now the NFL can't go back and award the visiting team a TD, and then say they get the win because the amount of points of the TD wouldve covered the 5 point margin they were trailing by. You have to figure the ending wouldve been different, the home team would've done something different and couldve come back. Would they have? Who knows, but you can't retroactively alter the outcome of a contest based on an error in scoring that took place within the contest.
Do I think Tank would've changed and fought better had it been scored a KD? No. But thats irrelevant, he would have needed to have the opportunity to do so. You can't set this precedence.Comment

I get what your saying but in that case I think the nfl would rule the contest a draw or in boxings case, a "no contest". Which in this situation would really change nothing, tank still keeps his belt and Roach still gets nothing, I think if u can't retroactively give a fighter a loss i wish u could instead take his belt and give Roach a chance to fight for it again against a new opponent
This is one of the reasons why I like closed scoring by judges. Since it is secret, it no way impacts the action in the ring. So you feasibly could argue that a bad card should be changedComment

Davis received corner work during the round and his trainer was up on the apron during the round. Both are DQ-worthy offenses. Just DQ Davis and give Roach the win he earned.Comment
