I did not see the beating this guy is talking about a close split decision fight Bet proved he still a force his age is not an issue he went the full distance finishing the 12 stronger than Bivol no mentioning Bet was the one chasing Bivol.

No way! Weren’t their 5-fight series on the regular back then? I wasn’t around at the time but I can see most of the greats had 3-5+ fights with just one guy. If the match-up makes for highly competitive fights, there’s no need to “move on” from it unless there’s a definitive KO win or a 12 round ass whooping where the loser showed he was absolutely no competition. OR, a rubber match deciding a best out of 3.
From what i’ve read here so far from some users, you would think Beterbiev was like Arturo Gatti in there with Mayweather Jr. And that fight was from that.
If Beterbiev is old and shot or whatever some want to call him, let him show it in definitive fashion in a trilogy. He absolutely deserves it, stop acing like Beterbiev is some journeyman scrub who got his chance and blew it. He’s a top 10 P4P fighter and among the best and most dangerous of fighters of the last 10 years. We need one last fight between them. Benavidez is young, he can wait one more fight. I bet you Beterbiev would immediately show how good he still is if you put some other top 10 contender in there with him.
I want both fights, don’t get me wrong. Bivol vs Beterbiev 3 and the winner vs Benavidez. They are all a must.Damn Wicked likes this.

I wanted beterbiev to win by KO because i thought it would be cool for his legacy to have KO over every opponent. but thats not what happened and its clear him slowing down in age he wont soundly defeat bivol again. If he was early 30s thats a different story but thats not the case now
a 3rd fight really will just take a lot out of bivol's prime. beterbiev has retired guys, a lot were never the same, bivol has had two rough close fights with him, that has had to have some effect, i like bivol too and hes younger hes got time in his career. i dont want to see someone like a benavidez beat a softened up bivol after fight 3 when i know bivol schools him.
you can tell when bivol hesitated to agree to fight 3 and just said he wants to rest, hes playing that out in his head he dont really want to go through that again.
beterbiev can still beat anyone else at 175 i think that is clear. if he wants to fight again then sure or retire on that turki moneySatir

he deserves it if he wants it but even he sounded like he didnt really care either way

No! I prefer the trilogy. These two fighters are evenly matched. It is very reminiscent of the Ali/Frazier trilogy.
I was highly impressed with Bivol’s performance on Saturday. He literally willed his way to victory in that fight.
Even though I thought he won the first bout too. However, this time It came down to the battle of wills.
He simply wanted it more than Artur Beterbiev.Last edited by champion4ever; 02-25-2025, 08:06 AM.

a 3rd fight right away will only hurt beterbiev... im not sure why his fans want the trilogy right away?? beterbiev didnt show anything in the rematch that he can beat bivol... im sure beterbiev will make some adjustments, BUT yall think bivol wont do the same too? lol.. bivol was clearly the better fighter... if im managing beterbiev, i would let bivol fight someone else first and hope he lose a step or 2 from that fight then do the trilogy. and while all this is going on, let beterbiev fight a lesser comp to sharpen up his skills. then do the 3rd fight with bivol.

Yeah I don't mind a Benavidez vs Bivol fight, Bivol and Beter, although great fighters, the fights were kinda boring. Let's try some new blood.
Also, Benavidez vs Smith would be good too.

I still believe that Artur Beterbiev is the more durable fighter 'And possibly from a pure physiological perspective, the better athlete even at this stage of his career'.
Dmitry Bivol won this rematch 'Due to fighting a better tactical fight, which utilized his best attributes more than Artur Beterbiev's'.
There was no need for Artur Beterbiev to at times, chase Bivol around the ring 'Which was expending unnecessary energy, and walking him straight into the offense of Dmirty Bivol. That was in my opinion, a tactical mistake vs Bivol'.
Note: If you notice the difference between the action of the first and second fight 'Artur Beterbiev never chased Bivol around the ring, he seemed to tactically not really play the part in the movie script which? Many boxing analyst and the media thought he was going to play. This is what won him the first fight'.
Artur Beterbiev has a good enough jab, and fundamental boxing skills 'To just stand his ground, and fight from mid to long range'. Yes. In that style of fight? Dmitry Bivol would be getting off a lot of work, but? Beterbiev in my opinion would be landing the more powerful punches',
Then in the latter part of the fight 'That was when Artur Beterbiev should of, went through his gears and applied his pressuring fighting skills. Beterbiev instead switched on the after burners too early in the fight, when Bivol was ready and prepared for such intense warfare. Even Artur Beterbiev's boxing trainer post fight, alluded to this slight tactically mistake on their behalf, which had a negative domino effect in the latter part of the fight'
Artur Beterbiev like a long distance to middle distance track athlete, increased his pace too early in the race 'Against most other light heavyweight fighters, I don't think such a tactical decision would of mattered. Because Beterbiev most likely has the superior levels of endurance, but? Against Dmitry Bivol, it was a mistake. Because Bivol may have been shook in those middle rounds, but? He was not decked or hurt to critical level'.
To conclude: It was a great tactical fight by Dmitry Bivol II 'And another great effort by Artur Beterbiev even in a loss. I think it is clear that both fighters are very closely matched, and if Artur Beterbiev can maintain his form or improve. He can definitively win the third fight'.
The trilogy fight if it is going to happen, may not be such a quick turnaround event 'As Dmitry Bivol has stated that he needs to take time to recover. To ensure that he is operating at top level, for his future fights. Bivol may have won, but I honestly think he sustained more damaged during those two great fights' etc.
